Olaaaaaaa People

Being very busy on my endproject for School I don`t do much modeling last couple of weeks. But... Just before that period I made a tree from twisted wire And coated it with ordinairy wall spackle. and gave it 2 Washes. It is by far finished but nontheless I wanted to show it to you guys. The type of tree is Litteraly translated from Dutch "Sad Willow" I think it`s called something like Weaping Willow but I`m not sure. STill have to add the hanging branches and leaves Thinking of making them out of my "Waterside Find"
Ok here are the pics. I will first add a blurry one with figure and without color to give you an idea of the height of the tree.:

As you can see it`s not a 100 year old tree It`s just a younger one from let`s say 10 maybe 20 years?? I made her to go in the dio I`m plannign with the DML Hanomag.

Hey Robert ! That looks good.
To add the long thin branches of a weeping willow , I suggest you use the seedy stems of grasses. I've seen it done before, and it looks great if you give it a bright green spray paint wash. Just make sure there are enough of them (there should be many dozens !)

wicked tree there. I agree the tall grass with seeds will make great willow branches. Cheers Kevin

Great tree Robert!

I tried the bent wire method myself and got good results on the first try. Instead of spakle I used plaster of paris. Either way looks good!

The trunk looks good in texture and size and shape.
I don't know if the weed/reed you found will give you the look you're after.
Check this site http://www.oplin.lib.oh.us/products/tree/fact%20pages/willow_weeping/willow_weeping.html
I think GF's on the right path, go for fine, thin leaves, that have the ability to droop.
