After a 3 week trip to France, I was finally able to complete my Hetzer. The kits involved in the build were the DML Hetzer MID, the Aber Hetzer Update, Aber Fenders, Moskit Exhaust, Fort Duchesne wheels, Fruil Tracks, Verlinden interior, CMK barrel and mantle and a plethora of scratch items.
The model portrays a late production BMM Hetzer.

Looks nice, how much did all that stuff cost? It's a pity that all the interior work is hardly visible in the photos. Perhaps in real life you can see more.

Dude!
That hetzer sure looks sweet...
Each of your models is better than the last...
I really think that you have captured the look and feel of the hetzer and that hard edge, late production paint scheme.
Now, we just need to see this beast in a dio or on a scenic base.
Later,
Tim

How did you do hard edge camo ?
Very nice weathering. I like this surface of your armour.

Thanks for the comments guys.
About the price, I bought all of the stuff BEFORE I went to University so I was relatively unconcerned about it. Now however...
Besides, the detail is particularly enhanced by the additions and I am a stickler for accuracy.
Hardedge scheme was done with blue tack although Rick (the Bear) suggests using silly putty.

Very nice work on your Hetzer ! I'm really impressed with your BMM Factory camo scheme. Weathering looks very good, esp on the tracks and runing gear. The rust effect on the muffler looks cool too. Very well-done
Cheers !!

Lord Obe San,
This is one fantastic looking Hetzer, time and money well spent. I have no other comment except WOW!
Man, you really master the art of weathering!

Andrew ..this is a job well done ....been following this build over the last year and you pretty much nailed it . I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on the white hatches but I can live with that. Your camo is excellent ...details crisp and well done ...what more to say than ...WOW! I'm with Dave on that one. Now go build a kit out of the box just to relax ...

Thanks for the comments guys.
Dave, I hope you will return to building sometime soon.
Rick, thanks for your earlier comments, I took them under consideration but as for the hatches, the references I had were very convincing.
No luck for an OOB kit though, I am doing a DML Panther D with ALL the trimming (no interior though, thankfully).

Hey Chad,
I am a big fan of Fruil tracks but they do take a bit of work.
Each link has to be cleaned of flash and drilled out before inserting the track pin. I do not use the wire provided by the company but use a thicker copper wire. After the pins are inserted, you have to decide how to best portray the end of the track pin.
Good luck,
Andrew

I'm fond of hetzers because of the low profile and compact bodies. Also, they were so well armored that many allied tanks had difficulty killing them.
I admire the work you've done on this build, especially the weathering. It gives me some ideas for my next German tank that I build. I won't settle for feldgrau next time.

Hey Oberst,
I love the finished product here. The finish is perfect. Used, but not too heavily abused, which you see with only German armour for some reason.
The only thing I would do different, ( and this is my own personal pet peeve here), shine up the tracks a bit more.
For some reason, everyone is under the assumption that metal tracks that are in use are always rusty and dark.
I am a tanker by trade and you don't see rust on a track that is in use!!!
OK, got it out of my system........
Really a fine example of what can be accomplished when you take your time and and do your home work.
I love it!!!!
