i really like what jim is changing on the way that our post look in forums. I mean the border surounding the name, the awards that now show on the space below, the addition of real names , colours , everything looks nicer and shows what we all know:
That Jim is really trying to improve all the time the way that the site looks and works .
Bravo Jim - just wanted to say that

Costas,
Thanks! And thanks also (as I keep forgetting to email) for the books and the A-Guard contribution! Very nice pictures. My wife said...hey Greek has funny letters...to which I said, "Yes dear they are GREEK letters". hehe

Murphy,
You bring up an interesting idea. I assume you are talking about the special stripes for number of enlistments, etc?

Cheers,
Jim

Holy cow! you took me seriously!
Yeah, for the stripes on enlisted ranks. Chevs for "years in service" is a GREAT idea too. I was kinda joking, but, it's not a bad idea anyway!

Is it possible?

Like it very much too!
Just a little idea; we now have the "my profile" box at the bottom of the posts, maybe it's a nice thing to integrate(is that english?) that with the square box with the callsign...
Seeinig a callsign and clicking it for that persons profile wouldn't that be a nice touch?
Just a thought....

I second that! I really like this idea.
Maybe even moving "My photos" somewhere inside the Author area could be considered.

I notice that some of the medals vary. Like mine shows my A-Guard and UOM awards, but others show the various campaign ribbons they've earned. What's the reason for this? A limitation in the amount of awards being able to be displayed?

Howdy Jim,

First and foremost...nice improvement. Secondly, I have kind of the same question as Rob. Is there indeed a graphical space limitation? I have got both last year's T2K '03 award, and the recently completed Overlord Campaign badges. But they do not appear in the side bar.
Now, I'm not complaining mind you, but I'd like the opportunity to wear them proudly!

warm regards,

Tread.

BTW, I really like the addition of our proper names to the listing. It makes it feel a wee less... 'impersonal'.

Very, very nice Jim - I like the new look too.

Tread - I have not assigned T2K: 2003 Ribbons yet. I just discovered I've got the power to do so now. I have to go and actually resubmit the Ribbon to get them bestowed - that's why that set doesn't appear...

I'll also chime in here as liking the new look and the fact our real names appear with our posts. Keep up the good work!

Rob,
There isn't room to display all awards so the system is displaying the first award from award_id 2 and up, Award ID 2 is the UOM award so that is why that one shows up first for us.

So.....are you saying there is a 'graphical' limitation? Meaning, we can only display one award + our UOM?........

Don't mean to be a bugger here Jim...just trying to understand.

Tread.

Oh, Gunnie.....many thx for the response! ;-)

Yes there is both a space limitation (there is room for 4 items across that area (rank, a guard badge, award, moderator graphic.

Also there is a SINGLE database query that returns one award. So for those with the UOM award it will display first before any other award ID because it's the lowest number (2).
