Looking good. The decals are impressive ... Ive heard so many horror stories about them. the sandbag behind the light guards looks very stiff! You can see in under it. Thats the only nitty thing I can see. Nice sag with the tracks as well. they look good for those old tamiya tracks

What color did you use (my monitor at work gives objects a different color than home PC does)?

I've got this kit and have been wanting to build it but the color issue has me puzzled.

Nice build, those decals look good.

Sabot - the colour is dark earth. Centaurs of the RMASG were not repainted because initially they were never meant to go ashore they were to be latched to the decks of landing craft to provide offshore fire support for the marines. Monty then decide it would be a shmae not to use them so he ordered the engine to be refitted. Thus there was to little time to repaint.

Could someone please explain to me what all those numbers on the turret are there for?

I know it's a dumb question, but I really don't know.

grumpyoldman,

the numbers are calibration markings, and serve exactly the same purpose as degrees on a compass, they allowed an observer to direct fire from outside of the tanks. the crew were given orders via a telephone of how to turn the turret according to those marks.

only the 50 or so RMASG centaurs had them.

cheers

Just to muddy the waters a bit, there have been some colour photos posted with the Centaurs of that unit also in green (probably SCC15 OD). While WW II colour film is notoriously fickle when it comes to colours, these photos seem to be from the same camera on the same day in the same intrersecion and some Centaurs are definitely green and some are brown.

To clarify that. to my knowledge none were green. I know it is annoying because alos at Pegasus bridge there is a centaur, in avtual fact it is the tank 'Vidette' and has been painter green. This is wrong. Because as i mentioned earlier these tanks were not originally intended to land. just sit offshore.

ross,

indeed the centaur at pegasus bridge is green, im not sure if this is correct for that specific tank, but there were some green ones.

there is a colour, wartime photo somewhere that clearly shows a green RMASG centaur. ill try and dig it out

cheers
