Guys,
Just completed the new Tamiya JGSDF Light Armored Vehicle and waiting for painting and weathering. I built the kit OOTB since there is no after market upgrade parts.
The chassis of the kit is die-cast, a real metal one! And it mated with the upper part of the vehicle perfectly. The fitting is much better than DMLs'. That's why I am a big fan of Tamiya. By the way, I am waiting for the JGSDF figure set which will be released soon in HK.
Here are the photos and your comments are welcome:
You can see the die-cast chassis in this photo.

Lord Sushi
Great pics of a neat little build. As usual, construction is up to your usual high standards as fit appears seamless and tight. This looks like a nice kit.
What's your plan for paint on this one? I assume for painting you will separate the chassis and cab to do the interior?
Keep us posted as this one progresses.

SteveWWH,
You are right, the kit you see in the photos are just dry-fit, I don't use one drop of glue on the chassis and the cab. I will do the painting seperately on the chassis, the cab and the interior as well.

Didnīt realise that this was released yet! What a cool little vehicle.
Have DML one of these as well, or are you refering to their 1/72 kits??
As Steve has siad above, the build and fit look excellent. Its not 100% clear from the pictures, but there seems to be some attachment "nubs" on the railing above the back door!
Another modern vehicle I would tempted to invest in!

Plasticbattle,
All I meant is the average standard of Tamiya is better than DMLs' but it's only my personal opinion...

Now that's a rather interesting (as in cute) little vehicle, nice piece of modelling. Just might consider adding one to the closet, certainly looks like a nice little out of the box build to help when a case of AMS sets in.

mikeli125,
I spent about 2 days on and off to complete the kit. I did enjoy building it cause the assembly is so easy.

Neat JGSDF vehicle ! Has nice detail and your work so far is nice, clean, and crisp. I will be keeping an eye out to see how you make out with the paint scheme.
I should be getting these kits soon myself, I have had them on pre-order for a awhile. Tamiya will do a JGSDF Humanitarian Unit figure set as well, and I will have these as well
Cheers !!
