Hi Guys. A few weeks ago, I built Tamiyas two old Stuarts OOB as a fun project. I would like to put them in a small dio, somewhere in Europe, probably in an urban environment. I have both base paintedwith OD, but no decals yet. Were these ever teamed together? Or should I keep them as different smaller dios/vignettes? I want to add a few infantry taking cover behind them. Would the latest Dragon set of figures "U.S. 29th Infantry Division - Omaha Beach D-Day 1944" be too late to use?? I can also buy the figures from tamiya´s newer sherman kits if these would suit better. 100% accuracy doesn´t bother me too much, but Id like to get them in the right ball park. So all suggestions and tips would be appreciated very very much.
The grousers(?) on the M5 as extra armor ... would these rust? Would they be painted like normal tracks?? Cheers

The only problem with French service is the figures. Where do I get suitable french figures??? But maybe the photos will provide inspiration. Both tanks are closed up so I cant use a tank crew either.
All ideas and tips are appreciated so all feel free, to chip in. Cheers Frank!!

Hello,
actually the French forces used much the same equipment as US forces, as they were supplied by the US. Vehicle markings were different and French troops sometimes wore the early war French helmets. For the most part you can't go wrong using figures of US soldiers to represent Free French.
See Ya!

From reading the Osprey book on Stuarts the US Army had changed over to M5/M5A1prior to D-Day. The British used both variants in ETO.

Thanks guys for all your input .... the options are opening up ... and I like it. I have little or no reference, so on a subject like this its not so easy. Remember, they can also be split up into two dioramas if needed. Is the any kits out there of US soldiers that would be typically early or did they only join in after d-day?
Maybe I could do one british and one free french.
Is it really that simple? Any photographs anybody? Where could I get french helmets?? Do Hornet do a set .. that would be perfect?
Sorry for all the questions guys I appreciate all the help.

Yes they do. There are both WW1 (HFH01) & WW2 (HFH02) styles.
