Hey folks,
I just put together a Panther A and am trying to figure out a historical paint scheme for this tank. Most of the info I find on Panther painting is for the oh so popular G variant.
I am trying to be somewhat historically accurate insofar as as I won't just do Panzer gray or just dunkelgelb.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
PS trying for two colors

Mike,
The Panther was NOT painted in Panzer Gray.. So one choice is eliminated..
Typically, an Ausf A would have a Three-toned paint scheme of Dunklegreb, Olivgrun, and Rot Braun (Dark Yellow base with Olive green and Red brown splotches).. You can also do a two-toned paint scheme of either Dark Yellow and Red Brown or Dark Yellow and Olive Green..
The basic paint scheme for the Panther pretty much stayed the same until the late parts of the war when Germany was desparate and painted tanks in whatever colors that was available..
Hope this helps....

Mike, if you use this link (and can discern the 'A' version) it will give you some ideas. Hope this helps!

Anyone know if there were any panthers that served with the Afrika corps?
I'm planning on Afrika mustard with OD green stripey things. I'm still no good with german camo.
thanks for the replies.
Is this the right forum?
I can-spray and brush paint primarily because of low funds and lack of artistic ability.

Mike, no Panthers in North Africa. I may be wrong but I think German dark yellow is available in spray cans. I would think the Africa mustard would be to yellow. (but hey, once you weather it the color will darken some)
