Just added pics to my gallery, if someone could please move an image or two to the post I would be appreciative. Tamiya kit with Cavalier zimmerit. added some brass fender skirts and screens and metal barrel. Used the Tamiya individual links Weathering is very subtle, look close to spot on back fenders, rear deck and back of turret. This is the tank that was in Prague near end of war. Will re-weather when I put in diorama. Has some slight silvering on one side of decals which I'll go back and fix. Real pleased with this one took about 3 weeks to do and was really a fun build

Great work as usual Steve.
I like your paint work, looks really realistic, put into a dio or with a back drop you wouldn't even know it was a model.
Can't wait to see the finished dio.

Good job Blaster.. The only thing I can see is that the indy tracklinks on the turret look like they are assembled backwards.. But other than that, it looks great..

Nice King Tiger. I have this one on my bench awaiting paint. I like the subtle touch of the missing side skirt things. I cut the front corners off mine (like the front of yours) I like what you did with the sides. What did you use for the Zimm? Is it PE, resin, or did you use putty?? Keep up the excellent work!

Zimmerit is that paper thin resin by Cavalier. According to instructions and pictures my turret tracks are on correctly. Check out your references. Thanks Animal for posting pics for me.

Hmm, cavalier you say, I'll have to check them out. I purchased eduard PE Zimm for my Panther A. But wanted something different for my Dragon King Tiger. Where did you purchase from?

Steve,
What I am referring to is the track is a two-piece design.. An upper and a lower.. The lower section should NOT show the cleats when you hang them on the turret. Both track pieces should be smooth.
Here is a pic, hopefully it will show..

Looking at the picture you saw of my build I can see how you got the misconception. Take a look at the rear end picture the left side has them hanging straight down. Of course on a museum piece everything is perfect, but look how thin the metal is that holds the tracks on, over a period of time, it becomes bent with use. so what I am showing is some sagging in that area. pieces are assembled and mounted correctly, just a little bulge in the right rear one due to clamp piece bent. In combat, some of these pieces would break off. Same reason I bend up fenders, I try to depict mine in use
Cavalier zimmerit--I got mine from my LHS. I see Great Models has it for $16.50 a set . Trust me, it's worth it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve, Harry is correct. You don't have the spare track-links mounted wrong on the turret, but you have the outside of the connecting link showing instead of the inside, which is smooth. Also you have the hangers for the spare tracks upside down. I think the zim looks good and you did a nice job on the camo scheme.
