I have made a bit more progress on the FAMO that I started recently... here's a couple of shots.

This time I have added the spade and a few other details to the model.

Looks like things are coming along nicely...It really is a fun kit to build isn't it...I had bought the spade to put on my kit ,but I remember someone saying that there was something wrong with the spade as is and the winch had to come up through the flatbed so as to be able to lift the spade up into the travelling position..I never really figured out what had to be done to fix it but I never did add the spade ...do you have any info on this? I might build another one with the late fenders and if I have enough info ...maybe the spade. Good luck on your project . Great job so far.

Thanks for the kind words about the model.

I have tried and tried to find real documentation of how the spade works on the FAMO and the only stuff I have found is examples by other modelers.

I have the ABM spade and I have seen the Scale Line spade. So, that makes 3 distinct interpretations of the spade.

I used the tamiya spade on this one, mostly because I had it... and I thought that it looked cool....

Anyways, i have some improvements planned for the spade... I'll be adding welds that seem to be appropriate

I really hope that someone releases late model road wheels for this beast... it looks really cool with the short fenders and the other late model features.

Tim
