Hi guys, Here are some pice of my in progress Dragon Panther g, Its going together well, the only major complaint i have about it is the fact that it has a die cast upper and lower hull, and they were a pain to get the fit right on. But other than that is a nice kit. I added the zimmerit to it with squadron white putty, it was my first time doing zimmerit, and not to mention that its 72nd scale. Well all comments are welcome!

Hi Dragonslain, The kit did come primered in a light grey, and yes i am having to use lots of CA to hold it all together. I just test fit the tracks a few minutes ago, and it apears that they are a few millimeters to short. But thats ok because the will be covered by the schrutzen. Thanks for the reply.

I've thought some of those 1/72 Dragon kits would be cool, but stayed away knowing that some had the metal in them. Does it make it a pain to assemble? How about the detail level on it? Probably helps that it's primed, but any trouble getting stuff, like your putty, to stick to that metal?

It is looking good though and am interested to see how it turns out.

It looks like you still have the gap at the front hull. When I assembled mine, I had to chip away the gray primer and even had to file away some metal to make the gap disappear.

While I did not apply any zimmerit, I thought mine turned out fairly decent. You're going to have a tough time putting those tracks on if you add the skirts first. The tracks fit extremely tight and I had a hard time getting the side skirts on after I added the tracks.

Not many of the Dragon kits come with diecast hulls. As far as I know, only the SturmTiger, AAV7A1, Panthers and maybe one or two others. The boxes are clearly marked and the box has a little more heft to it.

Here is a link to my kit: Panther Ausf. G Early.
