Well in "part 1" you may remember I announced losing my old job. Well....I have a new job! But I ended up taking a sales position at our local Honda dealer. I use to sell cars about 15 years ago so this is not "new" to me. And we desperately need the money.
So the bad news is that this job is MUCHO hours. 55+ to be exact. This is going to dramatically cut back the amount of time I can spend on the site for the time being. Hopefully I can adapt and work out a more productive time schedule for working on important issues. I am confident I can at least.
Just wanted to keep you guys updated. Thanks for tuning in.
Jim

Dear Jim
Great to hear you got a new job. I know car sales and 55 hours per week would be the minimium.
I am a new member but over the last ten to twelve months I have noticed the large volume of work you undertake.
Whilst I am no web guru or php gun I can put some stuff together. Therefore if I can be of any assistance to you please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you would like to see some of my work please contact me off line at my email address (which you should have) and I can give you the link to the ebusiness site I am currently working on.
Regards
Fordboy

Congrats on the new job Jim!
BTW, Honda has a reputation of having the highest prices in terms of parts and labor among the Japanese brands here. Is it the same there?

Jim,
congrats on the new job. Ok, it might not be exactly what you have been looking for, but it is a start from where you can go on looking for something more suitable, with money coming in again.
As for the time that you can spend on the site, that's just the way it is. We'll have to do with it for a while. I don't see any direct problems with it. If we can help, just let us know.

Honda's need parts? I was under the misconception they never break-down! hehe
Seriously though I don't think that their parts and servicing is any more expensive here than other Japanese or German cars.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim....
the important thing is you've got a job...at least you have a good product to sell.
The site will be here as always...thanks to you, and I'm sure you'll work it out.
Plus with so many good people on site helping out, you'll cope.
Keep at it and best wishes.
Cheers
Peter

Glad to hear you got a new job, and good luck on it.
But it doesn't mean you are welded into that position, you can still look for another position, keep sending out the the resumes.
As for the site, you got a great bunch of guys who are more than willing to lend a hand. (I know nothing about computers other than click and point though so I would be of no use as a tech type guy)
But I gladly offer my services as "Laundry and Morale Officer" (from Mr. Roberts!)

Congrats on becoming employed again. I know it's not your first choice, but hey any port in a storm right?
I spend 12 hours of my daily shift supervising our firefighters at the HMA plant in Lincoln AL. Our two plants produce the Honda Odysee and the Honda Pilot. I am very familiar with these two cars. It really is a small world you know.

Juul,
That would be the Acura RSX over here (was called the Integra from 1988-2000?). We do sell the Civic Si 3-door though. 160hp! It has even more HP in the UK I think. 190/200?

Thanks for all the words of support guys!

Oh Geeze Jim, I sold cars for 10 years, though never Hondas. I really wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, though I know you have to eat. Terrible hours, never knowing when you'll get off, never being able to rely on how much money you'll get. I really, really, hope this is temporary, for your sake.
Best of luck though.

Wow! Congratulations! You get 90% commision, right? And remember, there's over 5,000 members on this site, so there's got to be some people here who can help. Thanks for your time and once again, congratulations.

Congratulations on your new job Jim. I know it could be difficult at first but hopefully it would get better. I am presently unemployed myself & I know how difficult it is without a job. Good luck .
