Here are a few photos of my entry for the Move It! campaign. The kit is the very old Tamiya British SAS Jeep (#35033). It is mostly OOB with no aftermarket accessories.
I've added a 5 gallon can rack to the back using strip styrene as directed by the kit instructions. Strip styrene was also added to the 5 gallon cans mounted on the hood. Each 5 gallon can had a center handle added with stretched sprue.
I used stretched sprue to add the hood latches and the hose to the radiator water condenser. I also added a strip styrene bracket to the condenser with stretched sprue rivets.
Other basic items like thinning out the front bumper and rear bumperettes and drilling out the exhaust and old railing mounts. I added some gauze to the kit camouflage net.
Vehicle weathering is not finished yet nor are the crew figures. Since I am not a good figure painter, I've procrastinated in finishing the figures. The driver's seat back and steering wheel are not permanently affixed yet. They have been left loose until the driver figure is completed.

That looks really good, Rob!
One thing you might want to do is add a bit of weathering to the tires -- they look too clean and black.
The jerry cans look super! You must have a lot of patience to add that third handle from sprue to all those cans!

Great looking jeep Sabot. Just as Hollowpoint said it just needs weathering. A few paint chips here and there and your in business. What color paint did you use it looks almost white. I know that can just be the photo.

Looking good Rob, nice to see the old kits still being built.
Got an SAS jeep on the bench also, except I'm using the newer Tamyia jeep, as the starting point. Hopefully it will be completed by January.

I painted the kit in Testors Model Master modern desert sand, same color I use for Abrams, etc. Didn't feel like buying a different shade of sand paint. The flash has washed out the paint, giving it a lighter color than it really is.
I haven't finished weathering the vehicle, in particular, the tires since I've been handling the kit by the tires. I'll try to take some 35mm camera shots with it when completed. My digital camera is not the best in the world for close ups.
I tend to get a lot of satisfaction out of building the older kits to a more modern standard. I own just about all of the Jeep kits in just about every scale. I promised myself that I would build the old Tamiya SAS Jeep before starting the new Tamiya Jeep.
Thanks for the compliments, other than painting the crewman (which I feel will truly complete the model), this kit was a very fun build. Even improving the old 5 gallon cans is preferable to painting the figures in my opinion.

Very nice and clean work so far Rob - I like it too! I've never modeled the SAS Jeep before, perhaps one day I'll give it a go. It looks like fun.

The desert sand weathers nicely into a darker shade. I used it on the LRDG and SAS vehicles I have in production at this time. I just have to find the sheet styrene to make the jerrycan racks. Noone here in Midland has ever heard of it!!!!!
