G'day all,

Well here is my little vignette. "Forests of Germania. 180 AD"
The kit is from Andrea and its not to bad. I replaced the leather skirt armour on the standard bearer. The one in the kit looked to me to be not quite flowing enough. The German receved a new longer beard.
The figures were base painted a mix of Humbrol and Vallayo paints. Then shaded and highlighted with oils.

Parts of the ground work was something new for me to do. As I have never done water or a pine tree before.
The water was from Woodland Scenes. The pine tree trunk was made from an old paint brush handle and the pine from Bragdon Enterprises. The rock face is cork.

And thats about it i think.
Any comments would be great. Good or bad.

Cheers Jason

Oh and one last thing. Im entering this in the Queensland Models and Hobbies Expo tonight.

Wow, that's a fantastic dio (as we've come to expect from you) and I'm glad to see you have picked a very different subject that what we might otherwise expect.

Top to bottom I think you have a real winner there, great figure and really top-notch looking ground work. The water looks "real"

Congrats Jason. Impressive work. Figure paintings, groundwork and water are all great. I wish you good luck in Quennsland and my personal opinion you will have a prize there.

G'day mate,

Great job on the dio. Nice to see something different to what the rest of us will be submitting. Excellent job on the groundwork!

Hope u have more luck at the Queensland than the Wallabies have tomorrow :-)

Jason

A very well put together piece. Beautifully painted - and I think also captures the spirit of the Alone campaign.

I hope it goes well at QMHE - I am only sorry that I couldn't get there this year - although 2 of the others from my Club flew down on Thursday to be there. (I'll get to see the photos next weekend......and hear the yarns).

I am sure Tarok wasn't too sure what he was talking about. I think he meant that the Springboks would have a bad day tomorrow and the Wallabies will return victorious.
