Here is my latest project. It's a non-Sherman!! Just finished the basic painting. Still has yet to be weathered
Notice that one of the wheel rims is bare metal and unpainted. I wanted the wheels to appear random.
Here is a shot of the stern. I put a rail around the back.

nice one Alan. One fault is that the wheel rims always came from the factory with a coat of paint even if it was just primer. So your bare metal rims are totally out of place.
other then that good job mate

Looks like a nice build. I agree on the steel colored wheel, shoud have paint on it, try a different shade of green to give some variety. I have never seen one with th rear rail either. Cargo looks good too.

Oh well. Saw one of the Dukws at the Wisconsin Dells with an unpainted rim and thought it was cool. Of course that is 60 years later in Civilian use

Looking good Alan!
I think the off color wheel is a good idea. Maybe you could paint it a Primer color. Although, I'm not sure what that would be.
Good looking DUWK!

Heh, I was up at Wisconsin Dells when I was about 3 or 4 and rode on one of those things. I remember them speeding into the water which I didn't find very amusing . But I do agree with your statement: that wheel really is out of place. Lets just say all the paint wore off or the painter was having an off day!

I cut some small pieces sheet plastic and jammed it into the hole. Then I used putty to fill in the small gaps. I forgot that the putty shrinks when it dried so I actually used my finger to shape the putty smooth when i applied it. As it dried it began to shrink. The next time I will slightly overfill the gap. When dried I will shave off the "bump". I don't know what was going through my head as I use putty all the time.
