called "Lights, Camera, Action!" and will be geared towards building a movie variant model. I think this would be a good cross genre build that could be simple as building a Star Wars fighter to a project as difficult as reproducing a pseudo-Tiger with a T-34 like in Saving Private Ryan.

Obviously, it could be an OOB and scratchbuild project in any scale.

Other similar ideas could be Bogart's M3 Lee from Sahara, the Ti-67 from the Beast, Belushi's P-40 from 1941or a Terminator figure from one of the T-movies.

Someone could develop a medal for this build that looks like a clapboard with a tiny Oscar hanging from it.

Any thoughts?

That sounds interesting. Someone makes the bike&sidecar from Indiana Jones. That would be a good entry. Not sure if I'd join, but I'd sure have fun watching the entries posted.

Actually, the "German King Tiger" M47 Patton tanks from the movie Battle of the Bulge would fit the build, but the Hogan's Heroes Jeep would not because it is not from a movie nor was it even used in the TV show.

Nice idea Rob. This is one of the themes for the IPMS 2005 Nationals here in Atlanta next year, here is the discription on the website:
Modeling the Movies
Award for the best subject depicting a person, object or scene from the Silver Screen...
The possibilities here abound! Literally EVERY division and category in the contest could have a movie related entry. We've had so much fun over the last months kicking around ideas for projects and what all would be cool to see. Whether it's a simple John Wayne figure, an X-Wing Fighter, or perhaps an F-14 and F-5 "maintaining foreign relations" (hey one local member threatened to do it, in 1/32 no less!). For the more esoteric, perhaps a diorama of the attack on the ICBM complex at Kotloss, the opportunities are almost endless, and FUN. Remember "Nobody said nuthin about messin with no Tigers..."

So if the campaign happens you could then bring your build to the Nats if you come.

Cheers,
Mike

There has to be a M113 that was converted into something.

The FV432 page shows a conversion into a Japanese tank but that's a bit expensive.

But there is always the 'German' halftracks from 'Force 10 from Navarone'

I can think of a couple of M113s in the movies. I have a DVD about an Italian army unit fighting against the British in N. Africa. The British are in M113s. Something easier would be the M113 ACAV that makes an appearance at the end of the movie Platoon.

I would be interested if I could get a hold of the old Zvezda T-34/85 although I'm already enlisted in Move It, Heavy Haulers, Engineer/Recovery vehicles and maybe - if it gets approved Seeing Red.

I had thoughts along the same line, but doing whole scenes, like Oddball shooting the Tiger with paint, etc. It would be interesting to see which scene/movie(s) people wiould choose, how many people would choose the same scene, and the differences in presentation.

Actually you are right. I just did that for a joke, I guess a stale joke. Yes, the Camp. idea is interesting!
