I would like to know, does anyone make an acrylic dull coat in a spray can? If so, who?

I believe Krylon does an acrylic matt spray can.
I've never used it though, so can't tell you how it works.

Hi Jody, I have a can of the Krylon Matte in a rattle can. I haven't used it for a while, but I believe it's acryillic. It could just be me, but when I use it it doesn't dry dead flat, there is a slight sheen to it when it dries. The MM dullcotes are lacquer based, so if you use that, test it first to ensure that it won't react with the paint you have on your subject. The lacquer may be too "hot" and ruin your paint job.
As a side bar, I don't know if Tamiya is doing this with the newer armour instruction sheets, but in their new car instructions on the paint guide page, they now have a little painting tip box showing that you can put lacquer down first, you can put enamels and acryllics over top with out problem, and not to put lacquer on top of the acryillic or enamel, which is good, because I always got them confused, and it's cost me a couple of car kits in the past!

Hello, Jody...
In continuance with Daves and Kelly's answer, Krylon has a Matte for Acrylics, and I use it all the time with good results...If you want to spend big bucks, check out your local art supplies store, you will find many acrylic spray finishes.

Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a can of Krylon Latex Matt Spray and it basically sucks.....shake the can for like 5 mins straight, and use it.....and I still get a finish that is more glossy than using straight future.
Compared to the good ole Testors matt spray it doesn't compare at all.

Scott - Thank you!! That was the Krylon stuff I was trying to remember! yeah, it doesn't dry that flat at all, I think it's more of a sealer? Now if Humbrol made an aerosol can that contained their flat varnish, I would be most happy, that's the only thing that I can use to get a dead flat finish, and I have to brush paint it on, but it's still the best stuff out there.

Yes, I mistakently used the the Krylon stuff on my Leopard a day before I was to leave for MMM 2004 this past weekend....thankfully it drys fast, so I had time to go over it with a couple of coats of very well thinned Gunze Mud paint....couple of coats of that, and it took most of the sheen away, then I went over with a thin coat of Tamiya buff for a dust coat and another of the Gunze mud for a little darker look along the drive train, luckily, I got the sheen out of it......nice little heart attack when you see that like 24hrs before you are taking it to a show!!!!
