Stunner!
Nice visual appeal. Very well composed. The grass is very nice and looks cool.
Two things - the four sunflowers are to uniform and symetric. I'd add one more. The two sunflowers on the top of the fence post don't 'work' for me in that photo, they seem to be right "on" the posts.

what can i say : very very impressive. it is not a surprise for me because you know i have photos for this diorama on every stage (i remember the days we searched for PE sunflowers ) but i can say the latest photos are the best. heki grass add great realism to this diorama. congrats Kevin

Wow, I like the way the driveway/path has worked! That grass in between looks just right. Slodder is right, the composition is spot on, it really takes you right through the Dio. I agree about the sunflowers, they look great but a little to straight and ordered. try bending one or two down as the real ones often bend under there own weight. I love the fence on the right hand side of the dio. Did you scratch build it or is it from a set?
Can't wait to see the figures either.
Cheers
Henk

Looking good Kevin, the sunflowers? I didn't think you were finished, but I know it would an easy fix. You might want to put in a couple more "weed's" mixed in along the fence line, like you did along side the house. Something tall in between to break up the heights that you have established with the two sets of flowers. I think that river bed will be great when you get the rest of the water poured. The two pic's you added let me see it better. Becareful of the waters edge it looks like it might get crowded, may be the angle of the photo? This will be an awesome dio. Your eye for detail is very good, it shows you are really looking at what you are doing, and not just gluing a bunch of stuff down. Hope you do the article? Noticed one more thing I can't see the bank (between the road and the river bank), very well but it might need a little more texture, but can't really tell for sure.

Hi Kevin:
The Heki Grass looks great. I agree with the above comments regarding the sunflowers, they look a bit too uniform. Maybe bending them under their weight as suggested by Henk as well as turning one or two so they are not all facing in the same direction. I can't tell from the pictures, have you started the water?
Overall outstanding work, can't wait to see the last stages.
Keith

Guys thanks for the comments. I really appreciate the feedback!!
Henk the fence on the right is very simple. If you look in features under Dios it explains how to make it in Brave Souls. Its just tumble weeds and toothpicks
Paul, i will try to weed up and add another sunflower as per Scotts suggestion and yours. Also there will be more weeds along the fence line!1 I was excited doing the Heki grass I just had to keep at that instead of doing usual work in small sections. Again thanks for comments guys. They are appreciated. Cheers Kevin

Thanks guys. I am glad you like the way its working out with this. Henk to answer your second post, the flowers consist of dried flowers from a craft store. The purple ones are candytuft, the white ones are babies breath. Also the white ones were dyed with ink to make the different colored ones you see. There are more flowers to come, but will talk about those after they are done in next post. Brad, the ground work is celluclay covered in sand then painted, various washes and a little drybrushing. the yard grass is hudson and allen turf with verlinden static grass on top.Tall grasses are "HEKI" wildgrass over WS burnt static grass. The stones in river bed are rocks,WS talus and cat litter(talus and cat litter dyed for colors). The other vegatation is from bragdon enterprises mini plants and a few plants I dont know what they are as they came from Costas in greece. I hope this answers your questions. feel free to ask if you have others. I am really impressed with this heki grass product. I thought it would take about 3 full sheets to do the grass work but it only took a little over one sheet. I recommend anyone wanting to portray tall grasses look into it. Cheers Kevin

Thanks again for the comments guys Dave- earthworms and ladybugs? :-) There are going to be a few insects actually in this I hope you like it after they are added. Ricky- the heki grass is in sheets that you can just glue down. All you do is glue down some turf or static grass then tear the heki grass to size(it even stretches) and glue it down. I just used elmers glue. Cheers Kevin

Kevin, awesome work! I definitely need to pick up a couple of sheets of Heki grass. As far as the sunflowers go, I am assuming these are photo etched. Are these made by Aber?

Hey, jackhammer. Can you do the landscaping for our front yard? :-)
It's very nice. i like the "country-cottage" like feel. I do agree with the uniform sunflowers. But for everything else, it's very good.
How did you do the flowers? Did you buy them at the "artificial plants" section of the store?
What figures/vehicles are you planning to put there? I can't wait to see the works.
Angela

Thanks for the comments everyone I am pleased everyone likes it so far. Marty-the sunflowers are indeed Aber. Angela and Arvin the dio is based on the idea of the germans marching toward the Kursk offensive in June of 1943. they are passing thru a little polish village in the mid-carpathian mountains. there are two columns or convoys converging on a bridge at the same time which is causing some confusion and a traffic jam. The vehicles that are going to be used are a Tamiya MarderIII, Tamiya pzIIIL, Tamiya sdkfz250, and a DML kettenkrad. There will be over 35 figures from Tamiya, Italeri(hidden as drivers of 250), DML, Wolf, and Andreas. Also Angela the flowers are dried flowers you can find at craft stores the purple stuff is called candytuft and the other flowers are babys breath. If there are any more questions go ahead and ask. Cheers Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I like your idea for the dio. I hope I could build a dio that big someday, but my only problem is space...where will I put it..... . Good luck, and again it never ceases to amaze me how you did your garden...
Cheers
