Here's my Karl that I entered into a contest and got second with (only one point seperated 1st from 2nd).

Let me know what you think and any suggestions. Sorry in advance for the blurry pics.

Very nice, prize was well deserved. How did you do the chipped paint effect, and is the figure from the Tamiya 88mm FlaK Gun?

Cheers

That's a well deserved 2nd place. The Karl is great.
My only suggestion would be to add a touch to the base, a bit of static grass or putty for ground. Or maybe even a painted on 'frame' to give the model focus on the base.

I first put on the panzer grey base coat and let it dry and cure for a few days. I then applied wet salt with a paint brush to where ever I wanted the chips. Large clumps of salt for larger areas etc. I had to experiment. Let that dry for a few days then I airbrushed my colour scheme on. Once that was dry I scraped of the salt. That was the pain in the butt part. Unfortunatly I can't take credit for the technique. I saw it in FSM awhile ago and have wanted to try it for a bit. Yes the figure is from the 88mm kit. I just put him in there for some scale. It's my first figure that actually turned not to bad.

The only reason I didn't was time constraints. I wanted to do a full base (probably would have scored those extra points ) But lack of materials and money to buy them forced me to just to a plain base. I plan on making a full base and maybe put my SdKfz 222 in there and hopefully a crew.
