Here's a daft question, which barrel is appropriate for the Henschel turret (Tamiya kit)? There are two I see when looking at the Jordi Rubio selection:
8.8 cm kwk 43/L71
8.8 cm kwk 43/2/L71

Yes, that's what I needed. I looked at the two and frankly it looked like the 43/2/L71 was the one I needed but I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Hey Mike,
A couple of other options, Eduard and Aber also make barrels for the Tiger II. The Eduard barrels come with the muzzle brake as part of the barrel and are nice. For more detail go with Aber, the muzzle brake is separate but includes several machined parts as well as some PE and they are the best detailed on the market right now. Jordi Rubio is ok but the muzzle brake is a separate "blob" of white metal that really doesn't look very good.
Cheers,
Mike

I went with the Eduard 88. I really like the single piece turned barrel. The muzzle brake and barrel are in a perfectly straight line. I did have to file the business end of the muzzel brake a little bit flatter as I found it was too conical in profile.

OK, switching gears...opinions, who makes a good T34/85 barrel? The problem with all the hobby sites is that they don't post images of the products, especially not the aftermarket stuff. Any suggestions as to who to go with for a T34/85 barrel, Eduard, Jordi Rubio, Aber, etc?

You will generally find that Eduard has the metal end on all their barrels. they look better and are much easier to deal with. Barrel depot I think also has the complete barrel in metal. Don't know if they do any WW2 era, but I bought a 155 M109a2 and some M-60a1 tubes and was quite pleased with the product and price.
