What types of M4 shermans were used in the Ardennes Offensive because there is so may conversions I wouldn't want to do a wrong type.

I would like to do a Opel truck but it's getting the conversion I want is to hard and would have to wait awhile to get one. I thought it would be easier to just do some type of a M4 Sherman with some US figures.

There were so many types would it be safe to say they were all types used in the Ardennes Offensive.

M4A1(75mm)
M4A1(76mm)
M4A3(75mm)W
M4A3(76mm)VVSS

M4A3E2 Assault Tank aka "Jumbo"

That should cover it...I think.

Either of the Tamiya M4A3s will do nicely, and they even include figures in winter dress.

The original of one of the options for the M4A3 (75mm) 'Caballero' is pictured knocked out in Steven Zaloga's Battle of the Bulge book for Concord. The 105mm howitzer version also includes Bulge markings (though I think the markings may be taken from a picture of a plain M4 (105) and not an A3).

An old book I have called 'D-Day to Berlin even shows a tank much the same as Tamiya's M4 Early in whitewash.

I beleive you can add the M4A3E2 76, and the M4A3E8 76, to the list. I've seen photos of Creighton Abrams "Easy 8" from the Ardennes Campaign and I think several "Jumbos" had been converted to 76mm guns by that time.
