Most of the Allies during WW2 used the 40mm Bofers.
there were two types. One made by the British and one made by the US.
I know Masters Products have a bofers conversion for the GMC-CCKW kit with the British version but not of a straight bofers on it's trailer. I too would be interested to know of one as well.
Airfix does a Morris Commercial gun tractor and Bofers in 1/72 scale but how accurate or detailed it is I do not know as I have yet to build mine.

ADV/Azimut makes one, or at least they used to, it was a towed version. R&J Enterprises has it on their web site, it's ADV024 comes complete with 5 man crew for 75 dollars.

The Azimut kits are conversions for the Bofors/GMC. The only wartime Bofors L40/60 I can find is the Mountford metal kit in 1/32. these are good kits and the link Tarrants Toy Soldiers gives good service.

There's a 1/35 white metal kit made by Lead Sled, available here http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Vehicles___Scale_1_35.html . They also do four British crew figures for it.

A point of interest in the BOFORS community......The germans used them also. I have a book on german FLAK weapons, units and emplacements and it has pictures of german 40mm bofor positions. Just FYI.

I'm not sure that they used Bofors AA guns (everything's possible with Iraq ) but I'm sure they used M1939 37mm soviet-made AA guns :
and S-60 57 mm AA guns :
I've read somewhere that both guns used the same wheeled carriage
Maybe you've seen a picture of one of them

Cliff I don`t know the complete story and history of Bofors but I always thought that Bofors was a swedish company. Could be that US and the UK made the guns under license but then on the other hand it is quite weird that the Germans received US/UK weapons during WW2
Here is the link to Bofors

Maybe not the complete 40 mm Bofors gun story, but a very interesting article about the different users (and manufacturers as well), including Germany, of this gun during WW2 :
