First time and proud to be a member of this forum. I`m a longtime builder, old school if you will and my favourite happens to be softskins. I have built a Lynx ac, Scratched a Staghound, built a cmp c60x 6x6 and more recently scratched a c15ta Canadian Armoured truck. Unfortunately I can`t seem to hang on to Canadian pieces, they all end up in a local Military Museum. My scale of choice is 1/35 and I also build American and British softskins and armour.
I am also a good friend of Dave Cox,good to find you here Dave. Hope you don`t mind MrRoo,I placed a few CMP`s into your gallery. It`s good to be here!

Hey Russ, good to see you've found out where I've been hiding. Welcome.
I'll have to raise my game now that everyone'll see your trucks on here.

Gordon, known Russ for a few years over the 'net and went to BC to meet him in person - an extremely tallented modeller and nice guy - but in a red hat and cossie handing out freebies to the rug-rats - don't quite see that one mate :-)

Russ, put some of the pics of your models in the gallery and watch this lot drool! LOL

welcome aboard. It is real nice to have another modeler who knows what "REAL" trucks are (CMP's of course) :-) :-)

I will go take a look at those CMP's very soon and comment on them accordingly.

I have the chassis and front of an 11 cab F60H 6X4 almost done and am just starting on a 13 cab #4 breakdown (Aust) 6X6 C60X

once again welcome

Thanks very much Roo,I`m not too up on the different
cab types but do love those CMP`s. I will be uploading more pics soon of the 15cwt and a breakdown wrecker
that we have here at the Ashton Armoury Museum plus whatever else I can find. Hope the pics that I have installed earlier are labeled correctly,if not hope you can correct them. Thanks again.

Russ the pics are excellent. Do you mind if I copy them to the truck archives I have?

This way you will not use up all your gallery space on truck pics.

Noe the wrecker sounds real nice. Do you know what type of wrecker is on the back? The reason I ask is that I am after details (Pics and possibly measurements of the main parts) to do my Ford F60H 6X4 as a wrecker. If you can help I would be grateful as I have never seen a CMP wrecker in the 'flesh'.

Once again thanks for joining.

All I can say about your models Russ is "WOW". Attention to detail and your painting of both vehicles and figures is "AWESOME".

I like this one especially.

Cheers

Yep, like me Russ doesn't use an airbrush - I've seen some of his stuff for real and it's as good as it looks in the pics. I will admit that some of my weathering style was learnt from him.........

Welcome aboard, I noticed you got a lot of attention, so I had to see for myself, and you do mighty fine work.
I was looking at a lot of them, and the skin tones on the figures are real good, then I came to the Flak truck 4, with the guy standing with his back towards the camera.

How come you left his left arm seam not filled, at the shoulder. All that perfect work, I was even looking at his pants to how they looked right, and everything else about him is right on, with the shadows, then you look up, and it looks like he has a fake arm.

But if he has a fake arm where are the straps to hold it on. I'm sure there has to be a reason, but I don't know why, but I would think you would want to fix that.

Thats real good, that was the only thing I noticed, hope to see some more of your work.

Kerry

So ya found my weakness did ya,it`s well known around my neck of the woods and to a few on the net that I hate doing figures! I get ribbed about it all the time, guess there has to be some part of doing a model that ya don`t like and figures are it for me. I try,but somethin always escapes me,oh well, lol, hey, thanks for the kind words on the rest of the model Kerry, glad you liked the truck anyway.

Yes, ol' Russ certainly hates doing figures, as much as I try my best to avoid Allied armour! LOL :-) Yes people, you're in for a treat whenever Russ posts pics in the forum/gallery, his stuff never ceases to amaze me. We do rib him about the figures, and he gets me back by telling to build Allied. All in good fun of course. We just finished doing our Rememberance Day display at our local musuem, although we were put on the third floor this year, there was still a nice turnout of people coming to see all of our little works of art. Glad to see you here Russ, and you too Dave....been wonderin' where else you've been hiding!

The only thing, I thought you done a fine job on that figure, all except the shoulder, it was like your signature, to how specialist will leave one in-perfection somewhere as their signature, that way you can always tell their work, from others.
But that is to big of a mark, it hit me right off, to do so good on the skin tone, then leave the shoulder. You got to leave a little less of a signature.

I have a desert scene with the Tamiya Horch and 2cm flak pulled into an old desert outpost for some rest. There are 4 figures in this dio one being an old Rommel fig which was left on the sprue along with 3 arms. Figured I would change his head gear to Afrika Korps and stand him in the back of the horch with his arms behind him surveying the surroundings. The only thing was that when I had completed the officer fig.,unbeknownst to me until meeting with the guys for coffee at Tim Horton`s that I had used the two best arms that fit the best in the positions that I wanted and were noticed that both thumbs were on the same sides. LOL,we all had a pretty good laugh over that one,and so now I have to glue a map in his hands! I hate doing figures!
