WOW!

That is a very beautiful dio. I like the weathering of the vehicles, the position of the figures, the buildings and the overall composition.

But what I like best in the dio is the "combined clash" of peace and war. Here's a peaceful village with children fishing and flowers blooming around while German war machines come thundering by. It creates an interesting paradox and that is certainly the best part of the story.

Hi Kevin: The diorama is looking very nice! Congratulations and, as I can speak from experience, don't rush the completion now that you are so close!

Wow, this diorama is destined to be a classic. I do think the kids fishing need a basket or bucket to put their catch into. Keep us posted.

Outstanding job, well worth the wait. How did you find the time to propose to Mary? .
One thing puzzels me.. On the signpost is a sign for Brest 60 km. I know there is a Brest in France, but that would be more than 60 km.. . Is there a brest in Poland aswel or is it one of those 'deliberate mistakes'?

Cheers
Henk

Hi, i would like to thank everyone for their comments again I really appreciate them. Keith- I wont rush the finish of this even with having two campaigns to get busy with. I dont want to mess something up. Patrick- I had a cool fish basket to have sitting with the kids but it was to big ( out of scale) so I like your suggestion for a bucket. I'll give that a try. Henk- Maybe I should have picked a differnet town sign, but the Brest the sign is refering to is located in Belarus, right on the border next to Poland.Cheers Kevin

This is interesting qestion Henk. True name of this city is Brześć and before war it was of course Polish citiy.
I dont know why there is "Brest " on signpost. If there is " Warszawa" not " Warschau" there schould be " Brześć".
Kevin Brześć is about 1000km from Kursk...
You know, I'm Pole so I put more atention on this details.
Of course I think that your dio is great.

Hi guys and thanks for the comments again. Tomek, to show you where this is located and to show you which Brest is in question here. if you travel east from Warsaw going through Biala you run into Brest, Belarus which is around 180km from warsaw. My location is a little south of this straight line between the two cities as the side (river) road leads to Lublin. The scene I am depicting is the german build up of troops for the Kursk offensive. It is on the way to Kursk well before they even get to soviet soil. I was wanting a site where the war was more common and had already been there so to speak, a location with no active fighting. As it shows in the forground, the kids arent even excited about the troop movements. They are just in there own little world worrying about catching a few fish. I hope this clarifies the confusion. Cheers Kevin

Outstanding diorama in the works, Kevin ! You have alot of moving parts here. This scene creats a sense of tension of moving troops to the front lines, yet it shows the tranquility of a soldiers life.

Vehicles, and all those figures are outstanding. What really catches my eye is all the groundwork, and the buildings, etc.

Great stuff, and I will be looking forward to seeing this diorama finshed !

Cheers !

Kevin, I have followed you the whole way through. I am very pleased to see ALL basic elements of a good design have been incorperated.
Strong eye movement, excellant use of color, good story line. I am greatly impressed with your with your modeling skills, This is one for the books, I would be greatly disappointed not to see this evolve into a feature artical to be published or picked up by one of the modeling mamgazines! You have rivaled the best of the best. You have my support and anything you want for your dio's consider it yours. If I don't have what you need already, ask and you shall recieve. What else can I say... I critique from an artists point of view, I am not a "nuts and bolt's kind of guy." As an artist and an from the eye of an artist to another it is supreb!!!!!!

Hi guys, thanks again for the comments. Chris- I am feeling better and stronger everyday. I am still not hitting the modeling bench like I would like but hopefully that will come in time. Engin-brother I am glad you also take time to research. I feel that is a key to making an accurate dio. Cheers Kevin
