A special plea to my friends at Armorama. I recently went to visit my family and have come to a time that we all face, the mortallity of our parents... I want to do an early no frills WC to honor my father who as most WWII vet's is failing. I always thought I would have the time, and know I recognize this time is drawing near. In the begining of his service he was a "cat operator" cutting through the jungles of Burma. He worked on the Burma and Ledo Roads until an accident on the "cat" after that he was assigned to "light duty". That duty was to drive one of the companies WC's shuffeling a variety supplies and men. Not very exciting. Here is my request, I want to accumulate as much reference/knowledge material as quickly as possible. I have both WC kits and an eduward photo etched set. I would like to know the most accrurate/detailed build I can do in a very short period of time. I would like to incorporate it into a small dio or vinette. I have a photo of my father lounging in a reclineing lounge canvas chair in a pair of shorts next to his WC reading a copy of (I'm afraid the title has escaped me for the moment but do have it). That is the scene I would like to create. I am also looking for a figure reclining to replicate that scene. Figures are not my strong suit, and only haveI begun at a beginners level in figure convertions so any help there would be great. Otherwise my skills are well suited for this endevor. I am looking for my father's photo to include in the post I will update it later. Thank you in advance for any help provided.

I can't seem to figure out adding the two photos can someone help?

Nato, first off I am very sorry to hear of your fathers condition, sir, and I think that it is a very honorable thing that you want to do for him...I don't know how much help that I can be to you, sir, but anything that I can do to help you out, just ask...It may be better if you would send me a private message at armorama or my e-mail, as I'm often away from my computer for periods of time...Just let me know..

Sincerely,
Mark " Gunny " Smith

The Skybow/AFV kit is an excellent fall together kit, right out of the box.

I agree with Grumpy on this the Skybow/AFV kit is the one to go for a nice clean quick OOB build.

For reference pics there are a lot on the WC Dodges in my Archives under Dodge. Just click the link at the top of the Truckorama forum home page.

I am afraid I am not knowledgeable to give advice on the figure.

I am very sorry to hear about your Dad and wish you the best in doing this project.

Cliff aka MrRoo

PS> I am going to PM my e-mail to you. If you need any other info on the Dodge just ask!
