Quite Professionals vignete complete

The vignete shows Navy Seals in Nam 1968. While crossing the murky water they have stumbled upon a VC tunnel entrance. The figures are DML Nam series Navy seals I modified the one in the rear with arms from another kit. I added slings to the guns. The uniforms are tiger stripe although they appear to be woodland camo in the pics. The elephant ears and the spiky looking plants are made out of pie plate aluminum. The others are just fake flowers. The tree was made from the wire techniche and covered with wall spackle. Woodland scenics for the foilage and moss Im not sure what you call the stuff i used for the vines but it is used for filler in flower arrangements. The water is EnviroTex resin and woodland scenics water effects. In this next pic I blew cigerett smoke on the vignete to show the effect of fog. Thanks for looking

Thanks for the comments 11charlie and Graywolf. I am really pleased at how it turned out modeling a jungle is a real challenge. But I really enjoy it.

I dunno, I wouldnt really want to be in that river. I would rather not be in that war either. Prayers to them that were in it. But great vignette and keep up the good work.

Great Job! I really like the effect of the "darn it I forgot the name (water surface plants)" and how you have the trail in the water... really nicely done.
Now all we need is to contact Mr. Marcinko and see if he approves (for those who do not know-Marcinko has some nice stories in his book regarding traveling in the water in his Rogue Warrior book-he is also the man who started Seal Team Six (correct me if I am wrong)).
Back to the vignette... I like the way you brought it all together. Congratulations!

Keenan,
Excellent job particularly the water and as already mentioned the path through the water dividing the water plants is a great detail that you created very effectively.

Very well done. As others, I like the fog effect.
This was a real nice way to take a small amount of models and turn it into something really fantastic

Fantastic work. Congrats. The smoke effect is cool

That looks really good, but I don't think your pic's are doing it the justice it deserves. Can you take pictures outside, as natural light will show all the great detail better. Also does your camera have a 'macro' setting for close up photograpy? The camera has problems focusing closer in with bad light, and if you use a flash it makes it worse. The 'smoke effect' that people mention looks like a lens glare to me, but then I might be wrong.
I would really like to see this diorama in the daylight as the excellent jungle vegetation and water look good.
Cheers
Henk

I look at your piece of art and I'm glad I'm an arm chair general - outstanding, especially the wading paths through the water and the novel idea of blowing smoke for the photo, as mentioned already many times.
