I built this little gun jeep using the Academy 1/35 scale M-151A1 jeep kit. I modified the steering wheel, the left windshield motor and the rear fender openings. I used evergreen plastic stock to build the body armor.

Dave, is it my imagination or have I seen this before somewhere (the subject, not the model ) or is this one of these vehicles that one keeps cropping up in images of Guntrucks?

Really nice build and a hell of an attractive subject, thanks for posting it!...Jim

Dave that is just to cool. The stuff you put out is amazing and lately i've been inspired into building some kind of truck. I have ARF M35 that i'm digging out. Now to build it into something.....i'll look around for some pics and decide. Can i use this kit to build a gun truck?, and what is the time frame of this truck.

First off thanks for the kudos.
I am not sure if you have seen it before. There was no Li'l Ace in Vietnam. I built it to go along with the Ace of Spade gun truck. There are a lot of gun jeeps that were in Vietnam and I have built a few of them. Lil Brutus is one that I built and posted the photos here a while back. In Volume two of James Lyles book the Hard Ride there will be lots of photos of these little convoy security vehicles along with the M-37 3/4 ton truck also.

and another nice one from the vietnam ara master. Now this I like as it is like a kitten small and cute with a bite if you upset it.

Thanks Cliff. I almost didn't build it. It was just an after thought.

Thanks Gino, and yes I made the decals from the photos that I had. I reduced them down to fit.
