Hi All, just completed my Maquette AEC armoured cr and posted some pics in my gallery.
The kit is fairly easy to make, despite my box having no instruction sheet! A few pics and Accurate Armour's Matador as a reference for the underside did ok.
There is some really nice detail in this kit, but the tyre tread on the rolling faces leaves a lot to be deisred. Some additional stowage from AA and the spares box has been added, together with straps from paper and spare etched parts. The large tarp on the nearside is from epoxy putty textured with nylon mesh left over from some other model.

Thanks Dave - looking good, very good!...

I never even new that Maquette Did this kit - Doh!

One thing that others of you might consider, is in replacing the wheels, Accurate Armour might be prepared to sell you a suitable replacement set. I've always found that they are very helpful in selling replacement bits and pieces....Jim

Thanks for the comments guys. I appreciate it.

Jim, I did think of seeing if I could buy the AA wheels, but it seemed a bit of a cheek and I couldn't wait to start the model. If anyone does contact AA, then they should be sure to ask for the wheels for the Mk1, the MkIII and Matador have the same size wheels, but different hub detail!

Cheers Russ, I'm not too sure about the dust, a bit 'bright' perhaps. Luckily I've just found a shop with some more of my favourite dust colour, so the next one (Sherman II) will be better.

No,it`s not too bright, the dust is fine. Just depends on what you feel looks right,if you put it into a dio then the dio dictates the dust amount. On a static vehicle presentation it`s builders choice,I see nothing wrong with your build,by the way,the tires on a second looksee do in my eyes look ok,look as if to show alot of tread ware, not a bad thing, kind of interesting.

Another nice job Dave. I can see what you mean about the wheels but to my eyes they look OK.

Thanks Roo, perhaps the vehicle they modelled it on had bald tyres!
Overall then perhaps I judge the main fault in this kit unfairly, but at only £10 cheaper than Accurate Armour's version I know where my money will go next time!
