BS is indeed British Standard. The abbreviation is used together with Army Council Instructions (ACIs), Military Training Pamphlets (MTPs), General Orders (GOs) and Standard Camouflage Colours (SCCs) when refering to British WW2 colouring. Refer to the MAFVA site for further information (as well as some handy British Armour mixes).

RAL the ground forces during the war
I don't know what colors were used during the war, but RAL standard colors were used after the WW2 for both West German armor and aircraft.
Examples:
Bundesluftwaffe Norm ´76: RAL 6014 (Gelboliv), RAL 7012 (Basaltgrau), RAL 9005 (Tiefschwarz), RAL 7001 (Silbergrau).
Current 3-color NATO camouflage on Bundeswehr armor: RAL 6031(Bronzegrün), RAL 8027(Lederbraun) and RAL 9021 (Teerschwarz).
