Our press release covering our 3 year anniversary was added to the Yahoo and Google news database. It will be interesting to see if it gets picked up further by any other media outlets. I will be posting a feature on our 3rd Anniversary and Road Ahead sometime in the next few days. Thanks everyone!

Jim did you relay the story about the fire (was it Major Goose) or did the reporter read through the site and find it himself?

Thanks guys! As some of you have guessed it was written by me. As a press release the idea (hope) is that a news organization may pick up on the story basics and use bits and pieces of th release (in addition to their own investigations) to craft a news article. If that happens I will obviously be very happy to see the site get the recognition it deserves.
I was rather in awe the other day when I realized that just the term "armorama" brings up 35,000+ results on Google these days. When 3+ years ago it would have been ZERO. Sure 27,000 of those results are to pages right here, but that is an accomplishment all on it's own. 27,000 Armorama.com pages in Google folks. WOW.
Cheers,
Jim

Procrazzy,
If you look here
Disaster
and here
Gifts
you'll get most of the story behind Costas's trials etc and the way the folks here on Armorama rallied round.
This is what makes me proud to be a member of the best modelling site on the net.
Thanks Jim for setting it up and everyone else for helping make the site what it is.

As Darth Vader once said...{affecting my best laboured breathing voice}....."IMPRESSIVE".....
A hearty "Congratulations!!" goes out to you Mr. Starkweather for getting some well-deserved press coverage for all of the hard work, long hours, heart-felt concern, and solid devotion you have invested in our wee community.
As you said in your article, the site has indeed grown a "life of it's own" due to the balanced comradeship and sharing spirit of all of the fine members. But YOU Jim, provided the corner store where we all decided to 'hang out' and become friends.........
Thanks Pard'
Here's to seeing Jim in a fold-out "Burt Reynold's' style in Fine Scale Modeler next.....

You just had to go and ruin it, didn't you Tread? I may never be able to buy another FSM again, just in case they take up your idea.
No offense Jim but I don't want to see ANY of you guys in a photo spread like that. Now Lady Modeler and some of the other ladies here might be another matter. :-)
Congrats again on the article. It was really very well done.
