Does anyone know how it was manufactured? It would appear that it is made up of mainly flat sheet steel with rolled plate on the sides to give it the contour, all welded up together. Is this about right? The sides wouldn't be cast, would they?

Mike, the main turret structure itself was made from rolled steel armor plates that were welded together.
