With all the talk about "what did Santa bring you" and all I was thinking if a "wish list" could be added to Armorama? I'm thinking of something like Amazon has, where members could put up their wish lists to the site, maybe in their profile section, and then friends and relatives can go there to see what we want for gifts. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to set up, but I'm website design illiterate so I have no idea if that's so.
I know we can just leave lists with people but I thought this would be a fun way to let our loved ones know what we want.

Rodger---- had a brain wave------- Rodger ---- had a brain wave------ :-) :-) :-) :-)
I think that's a great idea.
Not only does it give the member a place to post his wish list, it gives others a chance, and a place to send a few unwanted kits to.... as gifts....... especially when the stash starts to overflow into the living room, and as taste change....... LOL....... :-) :-) :-)
Also knowing that some members are retired, and/or disabled and living on fixed incomes, and just may not be able to afford a lot of kits.
The only thing is the member would have to keep his wish list up to date.......

Awsome Idea.. then I wouldn't have to buy presents for my wife to give me.. she could 'suprise me'
I tried Great Models wish list.. but it keeps adding stuff on it's own.. that would tick me off if I got something that I didn't put up there...
lol last year my Mother In-Law got me one of those huge Guillow balsa wood planes!.. What the heck is someone who mostly dabbles in armor and sometimes rarely maybe a 1/48 plane gonna do with that!!!

:-) :-) :-) :-) Charlie...... :-) :-) :-)
Over the years I have gotten many rather strange and bazzar models from well intended people, who found out I build models for a hobby........ :-) :-) :-) The Lindburg Brain, and Light house kits are two that come to mind....... :-) :-) :-) :-)

My list would be so long, I'd probably crash the site !!

The idea definately has some merit. I am just not sure how best to do it. Technically anyone could use their Bio field to publish such a list now. I know I don't want to add another large text blob to the user table...hmm...it will just require some thought.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
This has the potential to grow uncontrollably and gobble disk space.
Might I throw a dampner on the idea and suggest that it be a top 20 or top 50 "wants"?

Sounds like a good idea
I'm with Tarok on the Top 20 idea... I think a Top 50 might be a little overboard

I think Jim came up with the simplest way.....
Just put it in your bio's...... a separate paragraph....
and just keep it up to date.......

I'm glad to hear that happens to other people too, I thought I was just getting old ... and saying I don't remember wanting that. I think they add stuff to your list they have to much of in hopes you'll buy it. LOL
I think it a really good idea to have a wish list, but I also think Jim has enough to figure out with this resent rash of site outages, doubt he want more on his plate.
What we need is a buyer club, so we can buy in numbers, as numbers are power. That way companies would cut us lower prices ... the ones that do get business, the ones that don't .. well don't. Power to the people (of Armorama).
