Could anybody point me in the direction of concrete information (or drawings) of German WWII artillery set up and the defences (against ground/air attack) around such area?

If you're looking for a website, go here: http://www.carlisle.army.mil/cgi-bin/usamhi/DL/showdoc.pl?docnum=352 German fortifications start on about page 54, drawings begin on page 57 (small bunkers) and continue on up through the big stuff. Have fun!
BTW, the whole Handbook on German Forces (TM30-410) can be found in the World War II section on this page: http://www.carlisle.army.mil/usamhi/DL/chron.htm
