I paid a whopping $18 and change for mine when Squadron Mail Order first sold them. I still have the shipping invoice that I use as a book mark.
Hard to believe that the MMiR Modeler's Guide to the Sherman is going for over $100!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2588&item=5958828752.
Great reference for the hull/tracks/suspension, but omits turret and armament. Does anyone here think it is worth $100+?

Ouch!! I saw one go for $30-40.00 a few weeks back and I didn't place any bids then because I felt the price was a little steep. Someone wants a copy bad!
Maybe Ampersand will hear about this and reprint it. (I can dream can't I?)
Cheers guys,
Mike

Holy smokes Batman! Where do I get a copy (other than eBay)?
Over $110 for a reference on the Shermies? Yikes!
Whoever scj1014 is, they REALLY want it! Hmmmm,
Mike
p.s. Not to upset you Shermie fans, but ain't that crazy?

Well, I have the Sherman, Stuart, Bradley and M2 book. Rest assured they will not pass from my hands until the Man upstairs calls my name. Of course I bought them while they were in print and readily available. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and spend just a little more than you wanted to. Oh well, I also spend gobs of money on resin instead of being satisfied with injection. But then I like armor, so, why be sane?

Hey, this is a typical p-ing contest between 2 rookie bidders that can't accept being out bid . After this is over one is going to be relieved he was out bid and the other sweating bullets when it comes time to pony up the cash . I wouldn't be surprized if the winner doesn't pay up .

Next Time I talk to Pat I will mention the possiblility of a re-print - or maybe a revised addition?

I thought (please confirm or deny) that there was either a reprint coming that included all the turret information or a part 2 coming that just contained turret information. Something along those two lines. I remember reading or hearing about it (probably read online).Next Time I talk to Pat I will mention the possiblility of a re-print - or maybe a revised addition?

I would not pay more than $20.00 for it - I did not find it to be very helpful at all - I sold mine last year for what they orginally went for. :-)

Jeeeeez.....I guess I should feel lucky or something. I picked mine up about a year ago from a local war gaming outlet (of all places) for about the same price as Sabot paid for his.......
Maybe I should pull it from the shelf in front of me and have it professionally mounted in a frame!?!........

Bidding has ended for this item. (scj1014 is the winner).
So is $112 expensive for this then?

I'd say $112 is a little expensive for the book. I recall folks on Fine Scale Modeler's forum bragging about getting one for over $50. I thought that price was too high as well.
I've found mine useful and it is getting worn, but I doubt I'd sell mine.

"A complete bibliography of Sherman books is included as well as a listing of Sherman kits and aftermarket products."
But guys, it does have a 6 year old bibliography, available kit list, and list of AM parts. That alone should make it worth at least a c note...

Expensive well yeah consider that the Hunnicutts "A History of the American Medium Tank" book which covered the Sherman extensively was around 90 bucks (I got mine for 45 at a local book store who happened to stick it on a clearance table a few years back) and I think it's a more useful reference in general.
It is OOP also hence the pricing of it.
Sherman : A History of the American Medium Tank
by R.P. HUNNICUTT
Edition: Hardcover
Currently going on Amazon.coms used auction area for 575 to 787 bucks...
Makes me think seriously about selling mine.

You forgot the lack of concise details on turrets . However, in fairness it does give some useful details on track types, hull detais and some nice color pics. As I bought mine in Madrid and paid around $25 for it, I still think I got a bargain...Jim

No. For $112 though, I'll provide a correction sheet .

That seems a bit high to me. I know I've probably spent more on some things over the years than they were probably worth, but that price seems a little high to me.

I only paid $109 (on a Buy It Now no less) for my Hunnicutt on eBay and that included shipping!! I was expecting it to be a total disaster but turns out it was only missing the dust jacket. I guess it all balances out good deals and bad deals and eBay gets a cut!

Personally 100 bucks for the MMIR Sherman book is a steal, hell I paid 700 bucks for the Brooklyn bridge, 1000 bucks for some prime Meadowlands property and only 300 bucks in Camden N.J. for the U.S.S. New Jersey battleship. Yoy guys just don't know a bargain when you see it. - Cheyenne

It doesn't sound as if he's miffed to me, just that as I said earlier, he really wanted a copy bad. Personally I wouldn't pay half that, but as he said it's his money and he could afford it and he didn't want to get out-bid as he had before.
Cheers,
Mike

my bad - at the time it appeared "to me" that he was & my post was before Aaron Kuck went on about more power to him & hence the winner's final reply.
