Hey Blaster, interesting to see that you were in 1/68 AR back when it was in Germany. It's now over here at Fort Carson under 4ID's 3rd Brigade. Only now it is a combined arms battalion with 2 tank companies, 2 infantry companies, an engineer companies, HHC, and a support company. Think of it as permanent task organization. I was in one of the tank companies until we got transferred to the sister infantry battalion, 1-8 IN.

As for the original topic of making white-letter decals, it's tough. I tried it once by printing my decal out in a really light-colored font on clear decal sheet. Then I carefully hand-painted white over the printed portion. Didn't look all that great, but if you want to make decals in fonts or designs other than the standard stenciled bumper number look, it works.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Sounds like there are some ways to get there, and the most promising seems to be to put the dry transfer letters down on a wet decal sheet and then apply the entire "block".

I'll fool around with that and see how it goes. I've got an M-32 that's been "done" for over a year, just waiting for decals, and this sounds like a good opportunity to try this out, AND finish a kit that's been hanging around the work bench too long!

Okay, I've posted three (3) pictures in my galley of one of the police cars I made the decals for. The "Salisbury", and the words "Police" I made myself. I also mad the emblem on the door by taking a photo of the one on the car and then sizing it to the size I needed for the model. Like I said before, I measured the actual wording and then divided it by something to get it down to 1/24. My oldest son is a math wizard and he told me how to do it, but it has been awhile since I made these. I'll check with him and see how we did it. Hope this helps, some.
