I have got the load about ready to fix and finish with washes and also tiedown ropes.
At the moment I have just sat the drums in the trailer to see how they look.
I would like your comments on any improvements I may be able to make bearing in mind that they are not finished being fixed or painted.

Wow! Now that is quite a load!
Looks great. Can't wait to see it with the tie downs in place. Where there any weight problems with the build considering the number of barrels? Looks like it would weigh a ton!

Holy Shiite-skees!!
(wait a minute.....would that be considered a semi-religious slur?...... )
Anyway....since this is a single axle wee beastie I've got to assume these barrels are on the empty side of their lifecycle.....correct?
Very, very cool stuff there Cliff. You must have painted the trailer section of this magnificent build at the same time as the cab section since they match almost precisely!....Mighty good stuff there mate. But I've got to say, here is just ANOTHER example of an opportunity gone by where either you or animal could help out a fledgling 'scratcher' by showing just how you went about building such a great trailer setup.......
I suppose I could just wing-it and make stuff up when it comes to building a trailer unit, but then I would have to run 'the gamut' of your ever so accurate 'eye' and be severely chastised for getting it all wrong.........tsk, tsk ,tsk.....
Mannnnn, your truck work is inspiring pard'....
Tread.
EDIT: You need to post more pics.....or should I say, more angles.

Great work.

Blimey Mate, they look as if they could roll off all over the place if you don't tie 'em down quick. That is one heck of a model Cliff, wish it were mine.

thanks for all your comments.
Due to the weight of the resin drums I did have to use balsa wood formers in the middle of the load.
This load depicts a backload of empty drums to be refurbished and refilled usually with petrol. The original photo that showed me that these trucks existed showed exactly such a load and I thought it looked impressive. Now I have got this far I am impressed with the model as well

Real Good Cliff, you made it come to life, I even used to haul loads something like that in my younger days, but as I got older, I felt it wasn't worth the risk, then I went to box freight so I wouldn't haft to climb all over that trailer.
I figured even if I landed on my feet, I still would smash my ankles clear up to my dark spot, LOL

Now this is a heavy hauler!. When it is finished you need to take some photos with the original photo to show all those that are not familiar with this truck. It is looking awesome Brother Roo. I would love to see this one on a base. It goes to prove that as wine gets better with age, so does our projects as we get older. Cheers!
