I was digging through my closet and found a kit I bought in the 80's I forgot I even had. It's a 1/72 Opel Blitz truck with 37mm gun. It looks like an excellent kit, and I'd like to have more like it. Since MPC is no longer in business, and I know that a particular kit is often released years after a company goes out of business under different names, I wonder if anybody is still re-releasing older MPC kits today.

IIRC, MPC reboxed Airfix models for the American market, so it's really an Airfix Blitz. It's currently OOP, but Airfix are recycling a lot of their old stuff so it may resurface one day.

David is right about the old MPC 1/76 scale armor kits (Golden Opportunity kits). Those were reboxed Airfix kits.
To answer your question in a more general regard, some molds went to AMT/Ertl. At least the Star Wars molds did.
