Please, I need to know that painting I can do in a Hanomag 251/1 at the time of the battle of Bulge. I have a Tamiya kit that has only painting of the Russian and African front. I want to built it in "Ardennes" painting and/or mrkgs.
Thanx

Gaucho -
The Sdfz 251 was still the mainstay for "moving the troops" so about any unit 1SS, 12 SS, etc to PanzerGrenadiers units would have had 251s at Battle of Bulge. Most references show them in the "standard" three color scheme of the dark yellow from factory with red-brown and the green added. Heavy use of foliage also. Hope this helps some,

Great help, Mike, thanks.
I think I can use some kit mrkgs like the balkancreuz, number plates and the numbers that represent the company, the platoon and the vehicle. Am I right?
Then, only lack the Divisional marks, that I'll search in the Web.

Typically enough, the 251s in the 'Bulge' would be 251s Ausf. D (last 'Mark') of this vehicle. I thought the Tamiya one was a 'C' which would make it less likely....Jim

Tamiya do a /1C and /1D, though the North Africa markings make me think Gaucho has the /1C.
There were some /1Cs around in late 44/45, but Jim is right to say that it was mostly the /1D
Have a look at this site for divisional markings

Though only a few are likely to have had 251s.

Yep, the Tamiya kit that I have is an Ausf. C. Then I'll build as one of those that remained of the Africa's campaign.
I hope to get right in that way.
Thank you friends
