I was thinking ahead and my next build is going to be a DML Hetzer. I have decided that I want the late war 3 color factory scheme but I'm not sure how to do it?? Mask it?? Do it by hand?? Any suggestions guys or perhaps even photos??

Andrew,
Sorry that I can't be of any help, but I didn't even know there was a factory scheme
Would be interested myself in hearing about this.
Joe :-)

I used masking for the hard-edge scheme I did on my King Tiger.

I used poster buddy, stuff you can use for hanging a poster on a wall.

This idea comes from Silantra. He used stuff they call blue tac. Check this thread for "how-to-do"

Works very good! My results:

Andrew, along the same lines as using the Blu Tac. you might try Silly Putty as well. Works like a charm. I take it you are wanting to do a hard edge scheme? If so , this is the ticket. Masking tape is difficult at best to lay down over all the protrusions on a tank. I did the splinter pattern on this BMP-2E using Silly Putty. Hope this helps. "Q"

In Gary Edmundson's book from Osprey "Modelling The Jagdpanzer 38(t) 'Hetzer' he discusses the "factory applied" 3 color scheme on units produced at the Skoda factory in 45'. Silly putty sounds great!!! Where in the heck can I find it??

Toys -R-Us, Kay bee toy stores, hobby lobby, michaels, Walmart etc. Its cheap and it lasts for a long long time. Just ask a store worker and they should be able to direct you to where they "hide" it. "Q"
