L.A.H.'s 7th Co. (Mk.lV's) had black numbers on a white border. Does anyone know what color combination the 6th Co. used circa BOB? I would like to be as precise as possible and I want to do the 6th Co.

Hmm, youve got some british tanks mixed up with german tanks I think. LAH is leibstandarte adolf hitler, they were never supplied with MK IV?

Have you never heard of the little-known German MklV tank, which came between the Mklll and Panther??? This very rare vehicle was occasionally found in the odd panzer div. :-) :-) :-)

OHHHHH! Did you mean the British MklV Male of WWl? I don't think they were using that during WWll.

Still no answers?? To avoid confusion and being more specific, I meant the Panzer Kampfwagon lV - standard medium tank of the German army. I would like to know if the turret numbers were red on white, black on white, blue on white, solid white, solid black, solid red, or outline. I think they may have been black on white, but not sure.

After some quick research, I have found that the Panther tanks in the LAH during 1944 were using black numbers with a white outline also.

Yeah, thanks. I got that too in 'The Battle of the Bulge' by Concord. Unfortunately, there are no color illustrations of Pz lV's.

Sorry, I kind of cut my previous reply short. Where I was going with that was this:
If the L.A.H. 7th Co. was using black/white and the panthers were using black/white, would it be safe to assume that all panzers in the L.A.H. were using black/white.
I'm doing some more digging. I am now curious about this as well.

That's not neccessarily true - the Tiger companies had, I believe, red, blue, and green on a white border (one color combo for each company), and so far the second Panther company had black on a white border. By the time we reach the Pz. lV companies available combos are just about exhausted, unless they used exotic colors like puce, or chartruse :-) . I DON'T THINK SO!! They must have used solid color numerals, or outline. What do you think?

OK. I just found reference that Hitlerjugend used red with white border on their 8th co Pz lV's. Now to find out if all divisions used the same combos on the same number co.
