is the site slower then normal?

I have ADSL and know that the latest post page is always a little slow but I have been having problems with real slow loading of threads from this page as well.

so I was wondering if anyone else is having this s...L...O...W problem?

cheers
Cliff

Yeah I think it runs slow, been that way (for me at least) some time now. I'm running on cable and I load up fast everywhere else where as here it take some time. Sometimes i'll have to start over. I'm on here everyday, many hours so...no complants

It has been slow for me as well, but I thought that what I was experiencing was due to the WiFi connection in my hotel room.

Monday night I could get past the home page to the forums, but not to my PMs. It sat for ten minutes before timing out.

It's not just you, Roo (hey, that rhymes!LOL). I can go to the main forums page quickly, then when I access 'latest posts' it goes onto goslow mode.

I run off my campus' internet service which is fast, but a 10,000 (of 20k+) using it at any one time, it tends to get slow.

I've had no problems at home (DSL) and at work (LAN).

It has been slow for me as well but I can't notice a difference between my dial-up service at home and the high-speed internet at school (except when dealing with posts with pics in them).

I am with Rob on both counts. No noticeable lag. T1 at work and DSL at home. Maybe it is a Kentucky/Indiana thing...

I find it slower than most sites, sometimes it times out and I have to re-click.

I don't mind though, it's worth it in the end.

I have made a few configuration changes on the server. Perhaps they will help. Basically I restored older settings we were using prior to the heavy surge in activity we saw during the winter months.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim

Best news all night to see you posting - just do what Dave says and don't overdo it!

As for the slow issue... no problems here. Everything's motoring along.

All the best

It has seemed sorta slow. I wonder if it is primarily a cable problem? I read today that Comcast is having problems on a national level. Not sure what/why/etc.

I have had issues on the net of late...outages for a few minutes here and there, some sites that just will not load (unable to find server).

Jim
