While digging through the pile of parts and tools on my workbench, I have to admit that my incomplete projects are many and that many of them are Sherman types. Here's my list:
1) Tamiya M4A3 (105mm) modified to M4 (105mm). Need to add stowage. 95% done w/building.
2) DML M4A1 modified with thickened hull side armor, CMD turret and VP T1E3 Minerollers. Tank basically finished. Need to add T1E3. 80% done.
3) Commanders Skink. Italeri lower hull completed w/Academy VVS. Need to add tools and S Models CDP tracks (yeech!) 70% done.
4) Italeri M32: corrected w/resin M4 hull. Scratchbuilt slab sided turret. Lots of details to be added. 40% done.
5) Tamiya M4 with Academy VVS and VP interior. 80% done.
6) S Models Sexton Mk II. Some basic build up of body and Tamiya replacement gun. 30% done
7) Italeri M7 Priest buildup for Korean War vet. Ready for priming!
And YOU KNOW that the Resicast Crab, BARV and CMD early M4A2 are screaming out to me!
What's your list? Share your shame!

Not much right now. I have an Indian M4A3E4 for the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War about 50% complete and I'm gathering parts to do Danish and Yugoslavian M4A3E4's later on this year.

1) I have a Dragon M4A1 Early about 90% done for the Victory Europa Campaign. Need to install the figures from inside before I can attach the upper and lower hulls. Then I need to touch up some paint spots and weather. I still have to decide if I want to use the Dragon indy-links or go with some AFV Club T49 tracks. I hope this to be the 24th complete by the end of this weekend
2) Italeri M32. Shrink wrap has been removed and box top is off and parts inventoried but no work has been done. I will probably build this atter I build the 105 listed next.
3) Tamiya M4A3(105) still in shrink wrap. I will be building this next in Olive Drab as my last M4A3(105) was whitewashed for the Ardenne Offensive Campaign.
I think I'm in good shape to pick up the new 2005 Dragon Sherman releases without feeling too much guilt of having too many kits in the stash.

Gosh ..I see I'm not the only one with a few on the table ... I got a Formations M4A1 with appliqued armor 65% built...
A tamiya M4 with a Formations correction kit started all the weld seams have been redone and corrected the front hull by adding the welds along the sides of the driver and R/O hatch bulges.
I have a Formations firefly turret to add to a CMD Composite hull M4 on my desk right now beside my DLM Firefly with a turret from CMD...Both of these are just being started for the Canadian build here on Armorama.
I have a Formations direct vision M4A1 with a set of wheels from TMD sitting on the self just asking to be built...An M4A2 d/v from CMD begging for a desert camo..
I've got two Dml M4A1's with new turrets from Formations...
I just got the Trakz bulldozer blade for another M4A3...
I have an M4 105 conversion from AMB beautiful stuff..too bad he ain't around anymore.
I just picked up a Resicast M4A4 DD tank with lowered screens ..l'm going to have to find more info on these before i start that one ..Beautiful kit though.
I have an old MP M50 kit sitting on my self ...
That and many M4 based kits all sitting there for their turn on my work bench...
Oh yeah I forgot to mention I'm waiting for my new order from Formations ..It should be in this week ,including the new set for the MkV conversion and a new high bustle turret for another Composit hull I have sitting around here somewhere.. I think that should keep me busy for a while ...but I've already asked for a few of the new M4A3 kits coming out soon.

Fujimi M4 HVSS (105) in 1/76 scale; Esci M4A1 with Armo conversion to make an early M4A1 (75); Revell M4A1 (76) using the upper hull from the aforementioned Esci M4A1, both in 1/72 scale.
I also have a new Tamiya 1/48 M4 on deck with a LionRoar PE/barrel set in bound.
I also have an old Tamiya M4A3E2 Jumbo that I never finished because of all the bad press it was receiving. I was in the process of building it OOB but have not got around to finishing it.

I only have three going right now:
M4A3 (76) - Cool Studs, Inc. #4: I'm pretty much done with the model, just adding small bits and details here and there.
M4A1 (75) - another 761st Tank Battalion Sherman.
M4A3E8 - gathering parts and details at the present time.

I have the Dragon Firefly Vc on the go at the moment amongst several other non Sherman kits. This is my first tank kit in 1/35 for oooh a long time(when did the first Tamiya Challenger come out cos that was the last kit and I got it when it came out?) also its believe it or not my first ever sherman and my first Dragon kit.Its pretty nice but you do have to be part detective part psychic to follow the instructions in places.

Italeri M36B1-gathering bits for TD campaign.Have a diorama base,Town ruins going.Lots of scratch-cork(a la Blokhaus ),Ton -o -Basswood,kitty litter galore, and Kancali street.30% or so along.Firefly Vc up after that as I found a really cool pic for the build .Lurking off to the side of the bench is a Revell Bf-110G4 in 1/32 that I am still working on it's cockpit. This has a lot of accuracy warts that probably will stay. In the name of fun.......

Hi Steve-O:
The Commander's Skink was a AA version of the Sherman. It was quad 20mm Oerlikon cannons in a cast turret made by the Canadians and mated to their Grizzly (M4A1) hull. The kit is simple and nice. All is needed is a transmission cover, a good hull with straight arm VVS. One has the choice to put Canadian Dry Pin tracks on it. This has only been available from the S Models' Sexton Mk II althought Historica (from Italy) is about to produce a set later this year. The CSM Skink is ultra rare and I sold my duplicate last year on eBay for about $120 (yikes!).
The Tamiya M4 is a good base to make a Normandy-era Sherman. Some minor tweaks and you're home. Look here in Tim Streeter's site for good correction articles on several commonly available Sherman kits:

Well, my completed Shermans list is WAY shorter than my to "build list"....
Completed:
DML M4A3E8 (w/Verlinden Add on Armor)
Testors M36B1
In Progress:
Sherman Firefly Ic Hybrid Hull (actually Tamiya Early M4, a TMD resin Hybrid hull and a Formations Late Low Bustle Firefly Turret) - having a hard time getting the TMD hull to fit the Tamiya chassis - the hull seems to be a little short -- but getting there....
To Build:
Tamyia M4 early Sherman
DML M4A1 75mm
Testors M4A1 76mm
Academy M4A2 Marines( w/wading trunks)
Tamiya M4A3E2 Jumbo (with Blast conversion kit)
Tamiya M4A3 75mm (w/ Formations turret w/thickened armor cheek)
Tamiya M4A3 105mm
DML M4A3E8 (w/aluminum replacement barrel - no add on armor - these are may favorite Shermans!)
Testors M7 Priest
AFV Club M10
Academy Achilles IIc
Academy M36
DML Sherman Firefly Vc
Academy M51 Isherman
Academy M12 155mm
Will probably also buy the upcoming M4A3 76mm VVSS from DML when it comes out....
Think there be more? Think I'll ever get them all built?
well, we'll see how far we can get anyway....

Well lets see, I've got a Tamiya M4A3 with a CMD early T23 turret that I'm trying to figure out how to make periscope guards for. I also have an old MP M-50 Sherman kit that's been on hold for years. Hopefully will get back to it within the next year.

Tamiya 1/48 M4 Serman $ Tamiya 1/35 M4 early. Both stalled out at the basecoat stage (due to a Bergepanzer build).

I've caught the Sherman bug myself. I blame it partly on a club Sherman build, and partly on the fantastic stuff Rob Ervin at Formations keeps pumping out.
I just finished an M4A3(76) using the Tamiya kit with a TWS T-23 turret and some bits and pieces from Formations and another kit, I didn't get to caught up in AMS with it.
I'm about half way done on a Firefly Ic hybrid, which I have gotten a little more ambitious on. I have the Dragon kit, but about all I'm using from it is the lower hull. I'm using the CMD hybrid hull, Tasca late suspension set, with some Formations road wheels, RHPS T-48 tracks with the duckbill connectors, and some PE. I also wanted to build something a little different than what the DML kit represents OOTB, so I'm using the Formations high bustle turret. I added the radio box with an Ultra Cast stowage box on back of that. Rob was kind enough to substitute one of his Firefly 17 pounder barrels and mantlet assembly for what normally comes with this set. I'm going to try and get some pics of it posted in the next couple of weeks.
Last, I have an M4A3e2 in the planning stages, but I probably won't get to it till maybe next fall sometime. Once I'm done with the Ic hybrid I have a couple of modern projects I want to get done.
Cheers,
Mike
