Yep this is my "baby"........M4-Trailblazer-Gordon.......many named -------scratch built entirely from photographs........10yrs from first sight to finnish.
Seen as small pic in a JANE'S book........collected pics over 8 yrs ------then received lots of pics from LATURN ....(Ori .. have you been )......the day it came out of service....from a very good friend ..........so not bad for a vehicle that do'n't exist or is now in a place that do'n't exist.
Was in Fine Scale Modeller magazine earlier this year. Based on a M51 Super Sherman kit chassis.

Wow,..i wish i have the same talents. But after consulting with fellow modellers in Singapore, we have decided that making the current AMX-13 or what Singapore called it SM-1 which is doesn't look like AMX-13 anymore is almost impossible. And its not cost effective. Cos a Heller AMX 13 cost more than a MBT like Merkava, Adrams or Lecrec. It would cost SGD$ 40 when a Adrams or a merkava of same scale can be bought at lesse prices. About 20.00 or 24.90

Steve!
It seems like a HUGE project!
I hope you're proud of yourself because the result is absolutely stunning!
I haven't had the chance to visit Latrun yet (ironic, isn’t it? :-) ), but I hope to get there some day. My father, who used to serve in the armored corps, always says he should take me there sometime... I just hope he'll actually do it!
What about that campaign idea?
I'm anxious to start!
Cheers!

Hi All
I have seen Steves Gordon model in the flesh the photos while good do not do it justice. it is excellent.
I am doing some research for a mate who wants to build something using a M4A3 IDF hull and a M50 turret. While looking at Tom Gannons book I have seen a few photos of a early M50 based on a Hybrid M4 hull thats looks interesting. Steve if we get a chance lets discuss this at Dundee this weekend.
cheers
Ian

Hi: ALL
There looks to be some modelers who want to do a IDF campign. But the THING is that is Jim letting us do anymore campaigns because I thought there was a hold on them due to so many of them going on. I read that in a POST awhile back then today I seen this and was suprised.
If there isn't then I'll ask some of the experts on how to write a campaign form and I do a research and see if I can dig up any history and maybe do a theme of stuff used in a Middle-East Conflict from 1940's to Present TIME. With stand alones to dio's would be welcome.
Happy Modeling

Does anyone make a merkava kit? Preferably Mk4? It would be really nice to have if we could do a Middle East campaign.

Ref: Campaign Launch Hold
There was a decision made not to approve anymore campaigns this year. There were a bunch started early in the year and too many approved for the balance of 2005 to start any new ones. I am sure this could get on the schedule for sometime next year.

There are several Merkava kits out there. Tamiya makes a Mk I. Academy makes a Mk I, Mk II, Mk II with mine roller, and a Mk III. There are no current "kits" of the Mk IV. There is however a conversion set made by AEF Designs. Also if you want to build the Mk III by Academy you will need some aftermarket stes to make it accurate. Legend Productions has a new set out to correct the Academy Mk III. It is an awsome set. Comes with hull modifications, new turret, some side stores and all steel wheels. The IDF has currently reverted back to all steel wheels on their tanks ( I like this idea because it saves you from having to mask off those pesky road wheels! ).
AEF also has several different sets for all the different Mk's of Merkavas. If you find a Merkava you like, chances are that AEF has a set to build it.
Anyway, I am a huge fan of the Merkava and have several of them in my closet to build. I have been building IDF armor for the past couple of years, the stuff just impresses me. Good luck, happy modeling.
