Greets All,
My first resin conversion is this MB KV-85.
The kit is a resin upper hull and turret, metal barrel and hatches. I supplied the infantry turret rails. Put this on Tamiya's KV-1 lower hull, drill 6 holes in each road wheel, and you've got the Josef Stalin series progenetor.
For fun I put an old Grenadier facing the machine down. With three personal tank kill badges in gold (gold = 5 kills) on his tunic, my money is on Fritz

I have a sneaking suspicion that production KV-85s didn't have the bow machine gun. The preserved example is either a pre-production model or has been incorrectly restored.

I think I binned the turret from my MB conversion and replaced it with the one from the (now v rare) Dragon IS-1. Perhaps I should have gone with the resin turret and kept the IS-1 as an investment...
