ive just taken the plunge and ordered one of cromwells news resin churchills.
im going for the Mk3 up-armoured with 75mm gun. i also ordered their british infantry tank riders while i was at it too!
now i was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for reference material. i have chamberlain and ellis which is pretty good for churchills, is the 'mr churchills tank' book any good?
any others worth a look?

Hi Joe:
If you want some great inspiration (as well as top notch research) on Churchills, go here:
http://www.geocities.com/vqpvqp/nih/index.html
Mr. Chester is a active participant in many AFV discussion groups and the great thing is that he is actually a Churchill veteran himself. I think he said he served on every mark of the Churchill except the NA. He's working w/Gordon at Cromwell to produce decals for some of the actual vechicles depicted on his personal photos on his site. Now that's a Primary Resource if there ever was one!!
Peruse around the site. Gerry's personal narrative is terriffic. His summation reports on the Tiger I and other tactical reports on the Churchill are very interesting.
I know that he reads this site so he may post a reply to you personally too.

Hi Joe,
To follow up on Roy's posting:
There is no reference to the upgunned Mark IIIs, which only saw service in NWE, in the many books in my library including David Fletcher's, although references do appear in unit histories. For details of the 'regular' Mark III, "Mr. Churchill's Tank" is very useful
The Na75s, which also had a 75mm gun installed, only saw service in Italy.
With best wishes,
Gerry
