Well, looks like there's lots of "hot" modellers outhere.
Thanks to all that reponded. I'm not short on models that call for me to build. And, after all, my shop is in the hot water tank area of my garage, so it is relativelly cool in there, if humid. So, guess I'll join the gang and give it my best shot. Again, thanks all,
Claude

I model all year round. In the summer I often take my modeling outside. I love sitting outside in those warm summer evenings where the sun don't go down untill 11 in the evening.

I go to my back yard and model outside. If there isn't too much wind I look for a place out of the sun if I want to airbrush....

Building and figure painting is always possible, as long as my stuff isn't fully exposed to the hot sun!

Model year round, just started at work early and over lunch but we had another purge last week..may be out of a job soon. If I build at home over the summer the dehumidifier is a big help. Its hard to find time and peace at home to build....but its my only relaxsation(SP) That and checking out this great site!

I too do my modeling in the basement. Fairly constant environment. Biggest problem is time, laziness and distractions. Planning on multiple 3-day weekends throughout the summer so hopefully I will get some household projects done along with some modeling.

Central AC so time of year is not a factor except in the summer I have yard work to do and more stuff happening with the kids.

My modeling area at the moment is upstairs in a spare bedroom I took over when we moved in. Plan is later on to build a dedicated area in the basement for me. Since that area has only 4 ft walls on the foundation I am planning to add 2 good sized windows for lots of natural light. Plans are done I just need to save some money.

I pretty much model year round....central a/c really helps.....especially when you have a bunch of days where it's 100+ like the past few.

I try not to let it interfere wth my attempts at playing golf though. Or the odd cold beverage beside the pool.

Summer's actually quite productive. My wife is usually in the garden palying with her flowers until dark so I have a couple hours of my own time.

I model year around, thanks to central air, but my 'paint and scenery shop' where I do my airbrushing and other painting doesn't have any ducting, which means I have to "borrow" cool air from other parts of the house that are cooled. Lots of fans means lots of ventilation, but it still gets pretty warm at times. It was over 90 degrees F yesterday afternoon in the shop, so I spent the bulk of my modelling time yesterday at my desk... where it was only 82 degrees F according to the thermometer there. Like Slodder, I sometimes have to be careful about dripping sweat on work in progress, but I know it will get cooler again...eventually... and in the meantime there is always

I model all year round, though I do spend less time making them in the summer.

'Dutch' and 'summer' don't go together that well, so I build all year round...unless those very few days it's too hot to anything at all.
Like Martinnnn I go modelling outside when the weather is good. Actually, I'm such a plastic-o-holic I always take 1 or 2 kits with me on (summer)holidays...

Ola Guys

Well Maybe it is just me and the fact that I`m not yet married nor under the occupation of a girlfriend (Which is something I still have to achieve but besides that) Summer is for me (and I`m from the Carribean) a time when a whole lot of other things become important and nice.
Winter, Spring and Autumn are the perfect modeling months here in Holland, It is rainy, Windy, Grey, Cloudy so the last place you want to be is outside. And I can do some serious modeling. When Holland suddenly gets struck by warm weather the Carribean blood starts to crawl again and the sound of salsa and merengue fills the air (to make the temperature even warmer (locally)) and Warm Weather and beer on a good terrace is just perfect. Not to mention that god loves Tankertops and short skirts ( I really hope I`m not going over the edge here mods and the Other sex starts to do what is perfectly normal in nature. They show themselves in all beauty. Not to mention laying with 33 degrees celsius on a side of the lake next to our village together with a bunch of friends a big ghettoblaster full of music, A barbeque, Beer cooled in the water and a party till night is just the best thing imaginable for a good summer. (I`m talking about 3 to 4 days a week party)

Aaaaahhhhh It`s summer again... Do I hear angels playing salsa

I don't do too much indoor stuff in the summer until late at night or if it's raining outside

Ditto...I garden as well.

Well. the hot weather has reached Denmark too. I've just finished Tamiyas BMW w/sidecar and Harley Davidson (both 1/35). Furthermore I'm modelling some figgies, in an attempt to clean out my scrap box for loose arms and such. I hope during the summer, that I'll have a good excuse to buy more stuff from my local hobby store, and to give me scrap box a refill.

Still, I also like the sun...and the green leaves

I tried modelling in the garden today but it was so hot....my glue was like water, it kept flowing out of the needle haha. I stopped, went inside the and continued with applying decals on my Cromwell and Sdkfz 251/22.

Too hot outside anyway in the sun......if you don't watch out you're burned alive!

Tommorow last school exam of the year....pray for me guys, hopefully I won't have to do the exam over again in 1 week Time to model again! (and not to forget, spend a lot of time on my girlfriend - just in case she's reading this post eh :-))
