Really looking good. Is this 1:72nd or 1:35th. I can't tell from looking at the figure standing in front of the house.

I think this is 1/35, either way, very nice work as always. Are you adding a base to this building?

Carlos,
Looks to be another example of your mastery of the building. I am very interested in seeing this one completed and painted to see the different textures come together.
Very well done
Jay

Carlos, you will become a successor to Verlinden when it comes to structures. You should start your own business providing architects and modelers with these beautiful builds of yours.
That is absolutely awesome. Will there be an interior?

Looking great! I like how you put depth into the windows, like the whole wall is that deep.
What are you gonna use for the roof?
Keep us posted!

Hello, thanks to all for your nice words
This building is a master for a well know company of diorama accesoires. I will make a serie of russian houses that can be combinated for make a entire street. My idea is give the possibility of make a large diorama with all houses.
The interest of these photos is show how you can combined diferent material for create a structure. a core of plastic with a layer of putty annd in expossed areas cork for simulating bricks.
I hope that this are usseful for people interested in structures.
For the roof I´m planning use plastic with alumnium for simulating the metallic plates.
Best whises
Carlos

I would say russian houses of this sort had a straw roofing or just wooden tiles. I doubt if they had metallic plates during wartime as it was rather expensive those days or even 'stripped' away for metal industry for the Great Russian Warmachine...
But that's just me thinking and asuming, don't know this for sure...

Hi Paul,
Straw roof is for more rural areas, these is a city house, the real house exists in Rostov. I take advise from a friend from these city a architect, modeller and contributor in Armorama Vladimir Devchenko that is my friend. Tile roof is not very common in Russia. This house is probably erected in pre revolutionary times
this is the roof that is suitable for these house

Hey Carlos,
I see that I indeed asumed wrongly.
As I said, I was'nt sure about it.
Great reference pictures by the way; nice shavy looking building. What a difference with the house behind it!
Now I even look more forward to more pictures :-)

Excellent model, love the pictures of the real house, not a right angle in it! LOL . Should there be some steps up to the front door, what I think Americans call a "stoop"? Probably wooden, that's why they've disappeared. I would guess from the size that this house originally belonged to someone of importance in the area, so not typical of a Russian town house? Would it have had wooden shingles as a roof originally, the roofing in the photo looks like a later addition to me?

Wonderful house! I can only wonder if it will have interior divisions or it will serve only to occupy the place of the house! Nevertheless, a great project!
Cheers and happy modelling!

Hi everybody!
I`m glad to see job of Carlos here!
I made some photos of Rostov houses for my friend and now try to explain or describe some moments.
This is photos of houses of first half of XX cent.
Roofs are mainly made from metal plates or soft material like
rubberroid plates. It`s typical for cities and little towns.
Roof tiles rare and untypical for this region.House on background
is modern (2000-2002) and covered with metal plates with
roof tiles imitation. Also I`ll be glad to answer to another questions about it.
Thanks.
Vladimir
