Well I'm diving in head first on this build ..I tried something new on this kit ..I used Mr Surfacer to make the anti-skid surface on the challenger..I was too chicken to spray it through my airbrush so I cut the bristles down short on an old paintbrush and dabbed it on..Let me know what you think..Oh I'm still looking for pictures of the back end I'm not sure where the anti skid stops . If knows please let me know..

Hi Rick,
I think it's looking good. I used this method on a Merkava II a couple of years ago before anyone thought of spraying the stuff through an airbrush, and thought it turned out well. Here is a link to a post on ML where you can see where the anti-skid goes. The only thing not correct is how he did the sides of the turret. (read the whole thread and you will see what I mean) The anti-skid should be on the front sides of the turret not the rear sides. (I hope that makes sense )

Keep the pics coming,
Cheers,
Mike

It's me again I just saw this one over on ML. This guy has done a very nice job so far, thought you might like to take a look. He also gives another paint option if you wanted to check it out. Look at the third post in the thread for the paint mix.

looks good richard,
dont worry about how far back the non-slip goes or the brush stokes.
on the real thing its textured paint which is applied by unit fitters, so it can vary in positioning and the care with which it is applied.
ive seen a spartan that looked like they put it on with a broom!
what colour scheme are you going for?
regards
joe

As someones who crawls over the stuff on DROPS wagons it looks spot on and varies in texture from smooth to rough depending if ut's been applied at an ABRO site or by local spanner monkeys or crews during maintance periods
