If it's Viet Nam through '80s era the interior is white,(M113A1-M113A2) If it's '90s or later( M113A3, M113 A3 ODS) the interior is pale green.

Yes, white as well. Some engine components will be white like the transmission and transfer case. The engine itself will be a gloss OD green or black. The cooling fan housing will be white as well as the air cleaner can.

Well again this is rather late but here we go.
Whilst i did not serve in vietnam i became a crew member on M113A1
LRVs in Australia in 1977 at that time almost all of our vehicles were still in the original U.S interior colours ( when the vehicles went in for a complete strip and rebuild at 2 Base Workshops then the interiors were repainted in an Australian colour).
So in my experience this is the situation, there were two distinctly different semi gloss greens in the interiors, one light and one pale, in use in our vehicles obtained between 1965 and 1975.
In addition a couple of M577A1 ACV's that passed through my regiment for a while, had a semi gloss medium grey interior.
With gloss olive drab wooden folding map tables attatched to the sponsons.
I have heard one of these greens referred to as "Sea Foam Green" which may apply to these colours or may not, as i have seen photos of later M163's and M113A2"s with another selection of two distinctly different interior green, colours.
On this site a couple of years ago, callsign goose ,stated that the two greens used by F.M.C in the "1960"s and early "1970"s to paint the interiors were FS 24533 and FS 24410 weather one of these is "Sea
Foam Green" i do not know.
As to the FS number of the grey i do not know but it was definitly a production line colour.
The engine compatrment sidewalls were U.S army olive drab, (dark and quite shiny), floor and engine bulkhead/firewall same as the interior colour, of the fighting compartment.
Access panels into engine compartment ,from fighting compartment , interior colour on surface facing fighting compartment , and dull natural aluminium on engine compartment side with black rubber seal strip aoound edges on engine side. These panels held in place with clips secured by screw down wing nuts most of clip, and all of wing nut in interior colour ,far end of clip which faced toward center of door coated in black plastic material, just as top of drivers seat support post.
Engine colour semi gloss medium grey (note tamiya kit engine compartment lacks a lot of detail and is based on the petrol engined M113
not the deisel engined M113A1 which had as i recall a 6 cylinder G.M diesel.
Transmission and final drives in the interior green.
Prop shafts, interior of engine access hatch(and rod) and L/hand liftable section of glacis plate, radiator and radiator header tank in olive drab.
Blower shaft air filter housing, beige fibreglass.
Engine exhaust tubing and spherical couplings, natural aluminium with sooty and burnt jet exhaust appearance.
Periscopes interior and exterior sections olive drab, I.R periscope olive drab, interior of cargo hatch, interior edges of cargo hatch opening, interior of ventilation fan housing all olive drab,
524 set and 125set(ANPRC25set attatched to radio tray)(both sets known as vic one harness) antenna matching units ,2298 ic boxes and 1780 junction box olive drab (radios in various shades darker or lighter) radio shelves, and vertical support struts most often in semi gloss white.
Interior light fittings semi gloss white with one white and one red light.
Bilge pump drain pipes front and rear dull dirty zinc colour.
Ramp cable pulley housing interior with black plastic covered hinged top cover.
Instrument panel interior colour with olive drab knobs amd silver bezels.
Gear selection housing dull cast aluminium.
Hope this helps
Pete

The proper interior color for those after late 1960's is Seafoam Green (FS 24533) according to the latest TMs.
The first one's where white interiors.
Any hatches, doors or ramps exposed to the outside are always painted the same color and the exterior.
An exception... the mortar carrier is almost always painted the same as exterior due to the open visibility when doings its tacticle job. Exterior of course is Forest Green (FS 30479), at least any of them painted from the post vientnam time through the mid 1980s when they started coming from the factory painted in the NATO Tri-Color camo. The NATO green is different that the Forest Green used in MERDC and MASSER of the 1970's and 1980's.

Also, as in your post in Armor, new colors are available since this post was last active in 2007. Krylon's Pistacio spray paint is dead on for semi-gloss Seafoam Green. It is a perfect match.
If you have info to post, it is better to start a new thread than to resurrect multi-years dead threads.
