Frank - Thanks for all the tips and hints! No use arguing with a master (I've seen your work on the IPMS Stockholm website). I'm going to use those hints and mix them up with some thoughts of my own. Hopefully the end result is going to turn out fine...

Right now, it's too hot to do any modelling though.

Except watching this wonderful technique. Honestly, when I saw it first, I tought you tossed a figure in some real water, and somehow took a picture of it. This really is one of the most amazing things I've seen in diorama-making. Congrats!

Hello PooBear:

Oooooops, sorry. Let's move that north into the Polar region. Just fantastic! And like so many have said, that it is 1:72nd is killer! The bomb. You said you used WS Realistic water. I have that. and I also have their Water Effects. Are you familiar with that product. It is while like the consistency of toothpaste. You can make all kinds of ripple effects with this stuff. It dries clear and will blend in with their Realistic Water quite well. It take a while for this to cure. In some cases it took me about a week. As I put it on thick instead of building up the ripples in several applications to get the height of the ripple or wave that I wanted. WS has their web site tell all about how to use this product. I color it with food coloring. A smidge of yellow, blue and red will make a brown. But only a drop. You still want to water to be semi-transparant. Just super work and a great idea as well!

Thanks for the tips! I've started working on the water, and I'll post the results once I'm ready. Other people have also recommended the Water Effects, so I might try that (it's either that or the super glue gel).

Now, go swim yourselves!!

(or build something)
