Hi!

I am going to make a vignett of my SAS riot gun figure, but I have no idea what to build. Maybe you diorama fans can give me a idea?

How is the figure posed? You say the figure has a riot gun? What sort of gun is this as I've never seen a SAS soldier with a riot gun. Maybe with a bit more info we could help with idea's.
hope to help later,
Robbo

Take a look at reference books that have photos of the Iranian Emabssy Hostage rescue in 1980 in London. That's what those figures are molded after. If you pick up the other two guys you could build them just before they breached the Embassy standing on one of the balconys or by a window. You have some latitutude as many of the photos that exist of this take down were taken from some distance. But there are good photos out there. (In my opinion, the gas hood on that figure is too gray, Someone else may know more than I do however....)
This link has some photos....

Thanks for the answers, REMEARMR and PorkChop. Here is a picture of the figure. I think that a riotgun is a sort of a pump air shotgun.

For comparing, here is also the picture from the page.

Jamal:
I've looked at doing those figures too, but haven't gotten around to them. How is that guy? Any idea on what you're going to do with him?

The model here shows the figure holding a pump action shotgun with folding stock(probaly a Remmington). Due to the spread of shot of this weapon would only be used for entry purposes(also the rate of fire is too low). The weaponn is loaded with a heavy shot and is used to blow the hinges of doors. So for your diorama have him facing a door with one hinge blown off surronded by splintered wood. You need to have one hinge mising because if you look at the figure he is in the middle of cocking the weapon. Then if he is part of a set you could have the entry team waiting to one side.
The figure is nicely painted and should make a good centre piece.

Thanks for the tip REMEARMR, but I haven't got any more figures that can appear on the side of the Riotgun-figure.

Thanks for answers!

:-) Hi jamal,
REMEARMR is right about the use of the shotgun, for gaining entry, it was one of the methods we used in Northern Ireland to gain entry into deralict buildings (danger of booby traps). solid shot was used, usually up to five rounds. We would want to open the door, so the first shot would be to take out the lock, if that didn't work then you would assume that there were bolts and go for them next. In an assault situation you don't fanny about. The 22 Regt guys would have known wether or not the doors had bolts, if yes they would take out the hinges (nagates the lock and bolts) if no bolts then one shot through the lock should do it.
The solid shot cartridge is dark blue
Should make a nice vignette :-)

Hi. I served in a riot squad when I lived in Australia. We used shot Guns using solid shot to remove doors, very effective, the shot gun the S.A.S. figure is holding looks like a combat shot gun proberbly a Spaz. For other figures have you checked out Verlinden if I remember rightly your figure comes from that range.
